A New Shipyard Opens in Azerbaijan

Keppel Charts The Next Lap Of Growth

The Board and Management of Keppel Corporation Limited (Keppel Corp) has announced  the Group's holistic succession plan in charting its next lap of growth. On 1 January 2014, Mr Choo Chiau Beng, 65, CEO of Keppel Corp, will be succeeded by CFO Mr Loh Chin Hua. At Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), Mr Tong Chong Heong, 66, will be succeeded by COO Mr Chow Yew Yuen as CEO with effect from 1 February 2014. Mr Choo and Mr Tong will be appointed as Senior Advisors to the respective Boards of Keppel Corp, and Keppel O&M and Keppel Infrastructure, thereafter. The Company will make an announcement on the appointment of the new CFO for Keppel Corp at an appropriate time.

Keppel to Build $800 Million Semisubmersible

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. (Keppel O&M) through its subsidiaries Caspian Rigbuilders BV (an affiliated company of Keppel FELS) and Caspian Shipyard Company (CSC), has secured a contract from Caspian Drilling Company Ltd., a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), to build a semisubmersible drilling rig, which includes owner furnished equipment, worth about $800 million. Scheduled for delivery in 4Q 2016, the rig will be built to Keppel FELS' proprietary DSSTM 38M design, which has been customised for the Caspian Sea's harsh environment condition. The DSSTM 38M is designed for a drilling depth of up to 40,000ft and operations in 1,000m water depth.

Keppel’s Logs $8.1B in Contracts in ‘12

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd's (Keppel O&M) subsidiaries have won three new contracts - worth a combined value of $343mn - to bring the group's total order wins for 2012 to $8.1B. Mr Tong Chong Heong, CEO of Keppel O&M, said, "With the strong confidence and support of new and repeat customers, Keppel O&M continues to be the provider of choice for a broad range of offshore and marine projects. "2013 will be a busy year for us as we continue to focus on the quality execution of all our projects - we are committed to ensure that they are delivered safely, promptly and to high customer satisfaction. Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine) secured two of the three new contracts, with the third new contract won by Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard).

Keppel FELS to Deliver Ukraine’s second KFELS B Class Jackup Rig

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), is on track to deliver Ukraine's second KFELS B Class jackup rig ahead of schedule, within budget and with a perfect safety record. This follows the redelivery of their first jackup rig of the same design, in Ukraine in May this year. Built to Keppel's proprietary KFELS B Class design, this second jackup rig will be deployed on the Ukrainian shelf of the Black Sea for its owner Chernomornaftogaz. According to Ukraine's official estimates in 2011, the country boasts proven reserves of natural gas (1200 billion cubic meters) and oil and gas condensate (220 million tons).

Keppel Set to Deliver Semisubmersible to Ensco

Keppel to deliver sixth ultra-deepwater semi to Ensco over the past 42 months. Keppel FELS Limited is on course to deliver ENSCO 8505, the sixth of seven ENSCO 8500 Series® ultra-deepwater semisubmersible (semi) drilling rigs to Ensco (NYSE: ESV) safely, on time and within budget. The rig is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2012 with zero lost-time incidents in over five million man-hours worked. Upon completion, ENSCO 8505 is contracted in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico with Anadarko, Apache and Noble Energy. With Singapore's Minister of State for Transport and Finance, Mrs Josephine Teo, as the guest-of-honour, the rig was named ENSCO 8505 at Keppel FELS today.

Keppel Wins Enscor $245m Jackup Deal

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has secured a contract to build an enhanced KFELS Super A Class harsh environment jackup rig from Ensco plc (NYSE: ESV) for $245 million. The rig is scheduled for delivery in 3Q 2014. This contract arose from the exercise of an option which was part of Ensco's order of two KFELS Super A Class rigs on 10 February 2011. Mr. Dan Rabun, Chairman and CEO of Ensco plc, said, "Ensco's new series of jackup rigs are enhanced versions of the KFELS Super A Class design that will provide increased levels of efficiency for customers. By building these new Super A Class jackups, we will continue Ensco's tradition of delivering leading customer service with one of the largest and youngest premium jackup fleets in the world.

Keppel Completes Saipem Ultra Deepwater Rig

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) is on track to deliver Scarabeo 9, a 6th generation ultra-deepwater semisubmersible drilling rig, to Saipem S.p.A (Saipem) on time and with no lost time incidents. A significant part of Keppel FELS' workscope on Scarabeo 9 involved the completion and commissioning of marine and drilling systems onboard. The rig was named by Lady Sponsor, Mrs Anna Tatka, spouse of Mr Pietro Franco Tali, CEO of Saipem. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Tali said, "With Keppel's proven track record, we were confident of receiving a rig of the highest quality delivered on time and in a safe manner. The Frigstad D90 semisubmersible rig is equipped with a Dynamic Positioning 3 system and will be capable of operating in water depths of up to 3,600 meters.

Keppel’s Third Jackup Order from Asia Offshore Drilling

Keppel FELS Limited's repeat customer, Asia Offshore Drilling Limited ("AOD") has exercised its first of two options to build a KFELS B Class jackup rig worth US$184 million. The effectiveness of this first option is subject to AOD or its wholly owned subsidiary entering into a construction contract with Keppel FELS and fulfilling certain conditions precedent. This rig will be AOD's third with Keppel FELS and is scheduled for delivery in 3Q2013. AOD, established by Singapore listed Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited ("Mermaid"), had placed orders for two KFELS B Class jackup rigs in December 2010. Last week, AOD announced the completion of a private placement which will result in Mermaid and Seadrill Ltd. each having a 33.75% equal shareholding ownership in AOD. M.L.

Keppel Delivers 2nd Pipelay Vessel to Global Industries

Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd (Keppel Singmarine), the specialised shipbuilding arm of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), is on track to deliver Global 1201, the second new generation derrick pipelay vessel to Global Industries Ltd (Global Industries) safely, on time and within budget. Keppel Singmarine was awarded a S$50,000 bonus from Global Industries for achieving zero-incidents during the construction of this 531.5-ft-long double-hull vessel. Mr Tong Chong Heong, CEO of Keppel Offshore & Marine, said, "Global 1201 is a great example of excellent teamwork and reflects a strong alignment of goals and priorities between Keppel Singmarine and Global Industries.

Keppel Wins Twin Jackup Rig Order

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has secured contracts to build two high-specification KFELS B Class Bigfoot jackup rigs from returning customer Gulf Drilling International Ltd. (q.s.c.) (GDI) of Qatar, worth about US$393 million. These latest contracts follow closely after Keppel FELS was awarded a newbuild jackup rig contract by one of GDI's Shareholders, Japan Drilling Company, in March this year. Scheduled for delivery in the third quarters of 2013 and 2014, the two latest rigs mark GDI's first new orders in six years, and will increase the company's jackup fleet count to seven units.

Keppel Receives US$8 Million From QGOG For Early Delivery of Alpha Star

Keppel Wins $440M Twin Jackup Rig Contract from Ensco

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has secured a contract to build two enhanced KFELS Super A Class harsh environment jackup rigs from a subsidiary of Ensco plc (NYSE: ESV) at a shipyard price of about $440m. These rigs are scheduled for delivery in the second and fourth quarters of 2013. As part of its contract with Keppel FELS, Ensco has options to order two more similar jackup units. Mr Dan Rabun, Chairman and CEO of Ensco plc, said, "The new rig orders reflect our commitment to continually high-grade our fleet. Keppel FELS and PV Drilling Name Twin Rigs

For the first time in rig history, two identical jackup rigs have been named together by Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) and its customer PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corp (PV Drilling). The naming of the twins, PV Drilling II and PV Drilling III, was witnessed by Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Trade & Industry and Education, Mr. S Iswaran at Keppel FELS today. Both rigs are built to Keppel’s proprietary KFELS B Class design, which is a choice rig for discerning drilling operators worldwide.

Keppel, FSO Conversion for M3nergy

Keppel Shipyard Ltd will be completing the conversion of the Floating, Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel, Ratu Songkhla, for M3nergy JDA Sdn Bhd. Speaking at its naming ceremony, Mr Tong Chong Heong, CEO of Keppel Offshore & Marine, Keppel Shipyard’s parent company said, “The excellent team work between M3nergy and Keppel Shipyard has enabled us to deliver FSO Ratu Songkhla within six months, and without any lost-time incidents. Formerly a 1989-built Panamax tanker, the vessel arrived at Keppel Shipyard in February this year for her conversion.

Keppel Delivers 5th Aban Jackup Rig

On Feb. 6, Keppel FELS Limited announced that it successfully delivered the jackup drilling rig, Deep Driller 8, to Aban Singapore Pte Ltd (Aban) on time, within budget and without incidents. Deep Driller 8 is the fifth unit to be delivered in a series of five KFELS Super B Class rigs for Aban since 2006. The rig has been completed with a clean safety record. The KFELS Super B Class design is one of the world’s deepest drilling rigs, with capabilities for drilling high pressure, high temperature wells up to 35,000 ft at 350 ft water depth.

Keppel Delivers 3rd Jackup Rig

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has delivered the third of four high efficiency jackup rigs to Maersk Drilling (previously Maersk Contractors), on time and incident-free. The rig was named Mærsk Resolve, by Mrs. Sun-hee Madsen, spouse of Mr Erik Madsen, Maersk Drilling’s Site Manager (Overall Projects), at a ceremony today. “Keppel FELS looks forward to deliver as many as 14 rigs in 2009. Keppel Secures $139m Contracts

Keppel Singmarine delivered the first vessel, Seaways 12, to Seaways in November last year, safely and ahead of schedule.

Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M) through its wholly owned subsidiaries has clinched contracts worth $139m. The new orders include the upgrading and conversion of a Floating, Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel into a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading facility (FPSO Okha) by Keppel Shipyard for Single Buoy Moorings, the building of two RAmpage 5500 Z-M offshore support tugs by Keppel Singmarine for Seaways International Pte Ltd and the construction of three tugboats at Keppel Cebu Shipyard in the Philippines.

Keppel O&M Training Center Opens

The newly opened Keppel Offshore & Marine Group Training Centre is poised to be a centre of excellence for technical and specialised skills training. (), the technical and specialized skill training center of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has enhanced its capacity to 3,500 training places per annum with its new facilities in . The Center will be a one-stop training facility where employees and subcontractors can register for courses, undergo training, receive certification and apply for relevant trade licences. Keppel O&M’s annual investment in training was S$17 million for 2006 and 2007 each. This is expected to rise to S$23 million in 2008…

Keppel to build Scorpion Semisub

Keppel FELS Limited was contracted to build its proprietary DSS 38 deepwater semisubmersible (semi) rig for Scorpion Offshore Ltd (Scorpion). The contract with Scorpion is subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions by mid July 2008. It is valued at $405 million. The amount excludes owner-supplied drilling and subsea equipment. Upon its completion in the fourth quarter of 2011, this semi will be chartered by Scorpion to Brazilian national oil company Petrobras for a period of six years.

Keppel FELS Delivers B Class Rig

Built to Keppel's proprietary KFELS B Class design, WilBoss was delivered 10 days ahead of schedule. Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), received US$40,000 from Awilco Offshore ASA (Awilco) for the early delivery of jackup drilling rig. Built to Keppel’s proprietary KFELS B Class design, the rig was delivered 10 days ahead of contractual schedule to Awilco without any lost time incidents during its construction. The rig is the second of three rigs Keppel FELS is building for Awilco.

Keppel FELS to Build $205m Jackup Rig

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) will build a third KFELS B Class jackup drilling rig worth about US$205 million for PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corp’s (PV Drilling) subsidiary PetroVietnam Drilling Investment Corp (PVD Invest). The agreement is subject to conditions being met by March 14. This latest unit and PVD Invest’s second rig PV Drilling II, which is already under construction at Keppel FELS, are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2009 respectively.

Keppel FELS Delivers SeaDrill Rig

Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M), has completed its fourth KFELS B class jackup rig for SeaDrill Limited (SeaDrill) within budget and three days ahead of schedule. This is Keppel O&M’s sixth jackup rig delivery this year, with five from Keppel FELS and one from Keppel AmFELS. In keeping with the naming tradition for all of SeaDrill’s other drilling units, this rig has been christened with the name of a celestial body, West Ariel. This KFELS B Class rig will have the capability of operating in water depths of up to 400 feet, has a drilling depth of 30,000 feet and can accommodate 112 men.
