Kirby Reports Q1 Loss, Withdraws 2020 Guidance

America's largest tank barge operator Kirby Corporation on Tuesday announced a net loss of $248.5 million for the first quarter, down from $44.3 million earnings for the same period last year. Kirby Corporation (“Kirby”) (NYSE: KEX) has announced net earnings attributable to Kirby for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019 of $47.3 million, or $0.79 per share, compared with earnings of $28.6 million, or $0.48 per share, for the 2018 second quarter. Kirby Corporation (NYSE: KEX) has announced net earnings attributable to Kirby for the second quarter ended June 30, 2017 of $25.8 million, or $0.48 per share, compared with $38.9 million, or $0.72 per share, for the 2016 second quarter. Second quarter net earnings includes pre-tax expenses of $0.7 million, or approximately $0.01 per share, related to the pending acquisition of Stewart & Stevenson LLC (“S&S”). Consolidated revenues for the 2017 second quarter were $473.3 million compared with $441.6 million reported for the 2016 second quarter.

Kirby Reports Record Earnings

Kirby Corporation announced record net earnings of $68.1 million, or $1.19 per share, for the fourth quarter 2014 (ended December 31). The results bested 2013’s fourth quarter figures of $64.3 million, $1.13 per share. Consolidated revenues for the 2014 Q4 increased 18% to $668.3 million compared with $568.4 million for Q4 2013. Kirby also reported record net earnings for the 2014 year of $282 million, $4.93 per share, compared with $253.1 million, $4.44 per share, for 2013 which included a $0.20 per share benefit due to the reduction of the United earnout liability.

Record 2014 second quarter earnings per share of $1.31 compared with $1.11 in the 2013 second quarter, which included a $0.07 benefit due to the reduction of the United earnout liability. Kirby Corporation announced record net earnings attributable to Kirby for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014 of $75.0 million, or $1.31 per share, compared with $63.1 million, or $1.11 per share, for the 2013 second quarter. Kirby Announce Record Earnings in Q1 2014

US tank barge operator and diesel engine service providers, Kirby Corporation, inform that earnings for the first quarter ending March 31, 2014 amounted to $62.2 million, or $1.09 per share, compared with $56.6 million, or $1.00 per share, for the 2013 first quarter. Consolidated revenues for the 2014 first quarter were $589.2 million compared with $558.8 million reported for the 2013 first quarter. Kirby's 2014 first quarter results included a $0.03 per share severance charge and an estimated $0.03 per share combined impact from delays related to winter weather and the costs associated with a collision of a Kirby vessel in the Houston Ship Channel.

Kirby Announces 4Q & 2012 Year Financials

Kirby Corporation today announced net earnings attributable to Kirby for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2012 of $57.9 million, or $1.03 per share, compared with $56.2 million, or $1.00 per share, for the 2011 fourth quarter. Revenues for the 2012 fourth quarter were $512.6 million compared with $550.1 million for the 2011 fourth quarter. Joe Pyne, Kirby's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "Our fourth quarter results benefited from higher demand and favorable pricing in our coastal marine transportation markets, as well as a contribution from our two fourth quarter coastal acquisitions. Kirby Corporation Announces 2011 First Quarter Results

Houston, Texas (April 27, 2011) – Kirby Corporation (“Kirby”) (NYSE:KEX) today announced net earnings attributable to Kirby for the first quarter ended March 31, 2011 of $32.4 million, or $.60 per share, compared with $24.7 million, or $.46 per share, for the 2010 first quarter. ACL 2009 Q4 Results

American Commercial Lines Inc. (NASDAQ: ACLI) announced results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2009. Revenues for the quarter were $226.9 million, a 16.4% decrease compared with $271.6 million for the fourth quarter of 2008. The decrease in revenue in 2009 was primarily due to changes in the mix of commodities shipped by our transportation customers, decreased towing revenue, lower grain freight rates and lower fuel prices (which are generally passed through to our customers). Total ton-mile volume declined by 1.4% compared to the fourth quarter 2008. Income from continuing operations for the quarter was $14.2 million or $1.09 per diluted share, compared to $22.9 million or $1.81 per diluted share for the fourth quarter of 2008.

ACL Reports Q3 Results

American Commercial Lines Inc. (NASDAQ: ACLI) (ACL) announced results for the quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009. Revenues for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 were $216.0 million, a 31.1% decrease compared with $313.7 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. The decrease in revenue was primarily due to changes in the mix of commodities shipped by our customers in the respective quarters into lower revenue commodities and to lower volume in the current year. The impact of lower fuel prices which contractually is passed through to our customers in the current year quarter also contributed to the decline in revenue and was partially offset by the increase in manufacturing segment's revenues in the quarter.

Kirby Corporation announced record net earnings for the third quarter ended of $25.6m or $.48 per share, compared with $17.2m or $.34 per share, for the third quarter of 2005. The 2005 third quarter results included an estimated $.05 per share negative impact from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Consolidated revenues for the 2006 third quarter were $264,612,000, a 33% increase compared with $198,741,000 for the 2005 third quarter. Kirby reported record net earnings for the first nine months of 2006 of $71.5m, or $1.34 per share, compared with $49m, or $.95 per share, for the first nine months of 2005. Consolidated revenues for the first nine months of 2006 were $732.8 a 26% increase compared with $582.4m for the 2005 first nine months.
