DOF Set to Bring in $30M From Two New Projects

Norwegian offshore vessel operator DOF Group has secured two new projects – one in the North Sea and the other in Asia Pacific region – whose combined revenue is expected to bring in $30 million to the company. The first contract for DOF covers engineering, procurement, removal and disposal (EPRD) for a North Sea operator, including the project management, engineering, logistics and execution of an FPSO cessation project. According to DOF, it will disconnect, transport and pre-moor the floating unit, and retrieve and recycle the mooring system.

CLdN Acquires Seatruck Ferries from Clipper Group

DOF Subsea Clinches Multiple Contracts in Oil & Gas, Renewables Sectors

Subsea services provider DOF Subsea said Tuesday it had won several new contracts in both the oil and gas and renewables sectors in the North Sea.The projects, to be delivered in 2022, total more than 185 vessel days excluding any optional work. Long Term Charter for Solstad Platform Supplier in UK

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Offshore has won a long-term contract for one of its platform supply vessels in the UK.The vessel has been contracted for one year, with further extension options included for up to two years. The contract starts in December 2021 in direct continuation of the vessel’s current contract. The contract is with an undisclosed North Sea operator.The 81.7 meter-long vessel has been working with this operator since June 2020, Solstad said.According to AIS data, the 2013-built platform supply vessel is currently docked in Aberdeen.

Unifeeder Acquires Feedertech

Denmark’s Short-sea operator Unifeeder , part of the global port operator DP World, has acquired a 77% stake in The Feedertech Group, a Singapore-based feeder and shortsea operator.The Group’s Chairman, Ali Maghami, will retain the remaining 23% shareholding.Established in 2003, the Group operates two companies; Feedertech, which is a feedering service and Perma, a regional shortsea network. Both operate in the same market and connect the fast-growing trade route of Asia-Middle East via the Indian Subcontinent.The Group generates annual revenue of close to $200m from a diversified customer mix, calls at 50 ports and transports over 600k TEU annually.“The Feedertech Group has enjoyed great success over the years and we are proud of our achievements.

ABP, Thor Shipping Sign New Port of Hull Contract

Associated British Ports (ABP) announced a major new agreement which sees Dutch shortsea specialist Thor Shipping & Transport commit 10 years to The Port of Hull.In addition, ABP has invested GBP6 million into Thor’s 10-acre leased terminal, allowing substantial infrastructure improvement works and an additional 2.5 acres of container storage space. As part of this key investment, in March 2019, a hybrid £3.5 million Liebherr harbour crane will arrive, to bolster eco-friendly operations for many years to come.Since July 2014 Thor has trebled its tonnage through the two-berth terminal on King George Dock. It has a regular container and breakbulk service from its own short sea operator - Sunline - connecting the UK with the East Coast of Sweden twice a week.

London Thamesport Boosts Short Sea Capacity

Dutch-based transport company A2B-online Container B.V. has added a fourth weekly sailing on its service between Hutchison Ports London Thamesport and Moerdijk in The Netherlands. The new sailing is inaugurated today (18 April 2018) by the first call of the m.s. A2B Spirit (ex-Norfeeder), a Sietas 151 type 508 TEU container ship, the fourth of this class owned and operated by A2B. Commenting on the new sailing, Clemence Cheng, Executive Director Hutchison Ports, said:“London Thamesport offers its customers a service tailored to their specific demands. When the time came to select ballast water treatment systems for retrofit on board its vessels, freight ferry operator Seatruck opted for the Optimarin Ballast System (OBS) for its ships, citing ease of installation, reliability, cost efficiency and complete regulatory compliance as deciding factors. Technip UK Pleads Guilty to Safety Breaches

North Sea operator Technip UK Limited pleaded guilty to a breach of regulations covering health and safety of workers which lead to the death of a rigger, and has been fined £160,000, the U.K. Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) reported. Technip UK Limited admitted a breach of regulation 5 of the Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessel (Health and Safety at Work) Regulations 1997 at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today in relation to a March 2009 incident which caused the death of David Stephenson, who was working as rigger on the U.K.-flagged dive support vessel Wellservicer operated by Technip UK. The vessel had left the Netherlands for Aberdeen and stopped three miles outside of the harbor for trials and tests which included testing of the forward bell.

Containerships Group Welcomes FESCO Statement

FINLAND-based door-to-door short-sea operator Containerships Group has welcomed a public statement by FESCO which clearly states that it is not involved in any attempts to purchase the Containerships Group or the Moby Dick terminal used by Containerships Group in St Petersburg. Sigurjon Markusson, managing director of Containerships Group says, "We welcome and fully accept the statement by FESCO that they have not been looking at buying our group, and that statements attributed to them in the Russian press were made up by journalists. We also welcome and accept their clarification that they are not involved in the harassment suffered by our terminal operators in St Petersburg."
