Lasco Enters Agreement with Clipper Group

The Portland, Oregon based Lasco Shipping Co. enters into major agreement with Clipper Group of the Bahamas. Torben G. Jensen, Chairman of Clipper Group of the Bahamas and Kenneth M. Novack, Chairman of Lasco Shipping Co. of Portland, Oregon are very pleased to announce that Lasco has entered into an agreement pursuant to which it is to be acquired by Clipper Group. Lasco Shipping Co. owns and operates a 23 vessel fleet. In addition Lasco operates the Lasco Logger Pool. Clipper Group is the well known and dynamic Shipowner and time-charter operator domiciled in Nassau, Bahamas, with representation offices in the US, Europe and Far East. The Lasco fleet consists of Handysize, Handymax and Panamax bulk carriers - segments which are all among the strategic core activities of Clipper Group.

Crescent Unifies Ownership

U.K. shipping and transport group Crescent has unified its ownership structure. As of June 28, 2002, Crescent is wholly owned by the Bahamas-based Clipper Group. "It has been a great challenge to work with Clipper to focus and develop Crescent after its separation from the Hays transport group. Jensen Named CMA Commodore

Torben G. Jensen, Chairman & CEO of The Clipper Group, has been named this week as the Connecticut Maritime Association (CMA) Commodore for the year 2006. Jensen follows a succession of maritime industry leaders as Commodore. The Award will be presented to Mr. Jensen on March 22. The Award is given each year to a person in the international maritime industry who has contributed to the growth and development of the industry. Jensen who is currently the Chairman & CEO of The Clipper Group has had a distinguished career in the maritime industry, with over 45 years experience. Jensen started his career in shipping in 1959 as a trainee in his native country of Denmark. In 1972 he and an ex-colleague set-up Armada Shipping Aps., Denmark.
