Almaco Completes Two Projects for Carnival Jubilee

In October 2023, Almaco successfully delivered a project for the newbuild Carnival Jubilee at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg. The catering project consisted of a full visual turnkey delivery of all the ship’s provision stores.Additionally, Almaco supported the yard with manpower for work consisting of fixed furniture installation in over 1,000 cabins. This second project was delivered in December 2023.Meyer Werft and Carnival Cruises chose Almaco to plan, design, build, supply and commission all the provision areas onboard Carnival Jubilee.

ALMACO Delivers Crew Areas for Expedition Vessel Crystal Endeavor

ALMACO said it has delivered the crew areas for the newbuild expedition cruise vessel Crystal Endeavor built in Stralsund in MV Werften shipyard.The company’s scope of delivery consisted of all crew areas and state-of-the-art public areas, where the guests prepare themselves for the expeditions that the vessel offers.ALMACO completed the areas onboard Crystal Endeavor on time prior to the vessel delivery. The steel-to-steel installation included interior and background outfitting. The installation of all 109 crew cabins and crew public areas were done by ALMACO’s team on site.

ALMACO to Outfit Hurtigruten’s New Expedition Ships

ALMACO has supplied the galley equipment and provision stores onboard the new expedition ship Roald Amundsen, named after the famous Norwegian polar explorer, delivered this past June. Viking Glory Celebrates Keel Laying

The construction of Viking Glory is proceeding on schedule. The keel laying ceremony will take place June 3, at the Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry shipyard in China. The new climate-smart ship will begin operating along the Turku-Åland-Stockholm route under the year 2021. Passengers can make bookings for the ship as of December 2019.The keel laying ceremony is an old shipbuilding tradition, in which coins are placed under the keel of the ship to bring luck during the construction phase.

ALMACO Helps Refurb Crystal Serenity

ALMACO Group recently delievered 36 new luxurious Seabreeze Penthouses and two new spacious Seabreeze Penthouse Suites to Crystal Cruises’ ocean-going vessel Crystal Serenity. ALMACO Onboard Viking Line’s New Cruise Ship

ALMACO secured the order to build 1121 passenger and crew cabins plus all the galleys, bars, pantries and provision stores, including cold rooms, freezers and walk-ins, for Viking Line’s newbuild at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (XSI) shipyard in China. Mariner of the Seas Undergoes Major Upgrade

The $120 million upgrade that Royal Caribbean cruise ship Mariner of the Seas received at the Cadiz Navatia shipyard this past June is reportedly the largest ship modernization ever performed and the biggest construction project carried out in Spain At the time of the dry dock, the ship was the largest “hotel” in the country at the time.ALMACO’s contribution to this major revamp included building 38 new panoramic staterooms inside the new aluminum structure on deck 12 forward.

ALMACO to Deliver Provision Stores for AIDA Newbuilds

German shipyard Meyer Werft has awarded ALMACO Group the newbuilding contract for provision stores and fast thawing chambers for the next ship generation of AIDA Cruises, which are expected to be delivered end of 2018 and 2021. ALMACO’s scope of work involves a total of 2,600 square meters of provision stores, as well as nine fast thawing chambers (FTC). The FTC is an ALMACO-engineered system that supports a much faster thawing period on less thawing surface, providing a thawing capacity of 750 kg for each room for 12 hours, therefore allowing for 6,750 kg in thawing capacity per 24 hours. ALMACO has delivered FTCs in previous AIDA Cruises newbuilds, AIDAprima and AIDAperla.

Canadian shipbuilder and industrial fabricator Davie Shipbuilding has awarded ALMACO Group the contract for the delivery of the superstructure of Project Resolve, a Navy AOR vessel, the first project carried out as part of ALMACO and Davie’s cooperation and technology transfer. ALMACO to Build Cabins, Galleys for Rhine Class Ships

German shipyard MV WERFTEN has awarded ALMACO Group a contract to build the luxury suites and galley areas for Crystal River Cruises’ four Rhine Class luxury river yachts, which will be delivered in 2017 and 2018 from Wismar. ALMACO To Redesign Crew Area on Crystal Mozart

Launching Crystal River Cruises fleet, Crystal Mozart, the Queen of Europe’s Rivers, will boast a full redesign that features a refurbishment of crew cabins and crew areas by ALMACO Group. ALMACO’s turnkey delivery will include the modernization of 50 crew cabins and crew areas such as the gym, mess, recreation areas as well as store rooms. New Crew Cabins for Celebrity Summit

Celebrity Cruises has awarded ALMACO Group the contract to build 16 new crew cabins onboard Celebrity Summit during a short March drydock at Grand Bahamas Shipyard (GBS) and continuing during sailing. ALMACO’s scope of work includes demolition, complete outfitting of the GBS-provided new steel block, and delivery of 16 new crew cabins on Deck 5. The drydock period began at GBS from February 29 and is expected to conclude March 12, 2016. The works will then be finalized during the first sailing cruise that follows the drydock.

ALMACO Wins Statoil Order for 450 Cabins

ALMACO Group was awarded the contract to build 450 NORSOK-compliant Modular Cabins for Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup fixed platform at Apply Leirvik’s yard in Stord, Norway. ALMACO’s delivery will consist of modular cabin deliveries to Apply and Kvaener in Stord, and to Emtunga in Sweden, prior the Living Quarter blocks being transported to Kvaerner for integration. ALMACO’s scope of work for this project includes the supply of 450 NORSOK-compliant modular cabins to be incorporated into the Living Quarter being built at Apply Leirvik’s yard. The modular cabins will be built at ALMACO’s facilities in Finland and will be delivered in separate batches to Apply Emtunga in Sweden, to Apply Leirvik in Stord, Norway, and to Kvaerner also in Stord, Norway.

ALMACO: New Crew Cabins for RCI Mega Cruis Ships

Press Release -- ALMACO’s Modernization team sailed onboard Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas to perform turnkey deliveries of 17 new crew cabins on deck 2. The scope of work for each of the ships involved the dismantling of the existing crew-dedicated Windjammer, the assembly of the 17 new cabins, new corridors, and the electrical and piping works in line with the physical changes. "The team faced several technical and scheduling challenges with back-to-back projects that had practically overlapping timelines," explained Tommi Virta, Project Manager.
