Thrustmaster Closes OTC with Dutch Barge Company Deal

Thrustmaster of Texas, a manufacturer of commercial marine propulsion equipment based out of Houston, closed out this year's OTC by placing ink to paper after signing a contract on the trade show floor with the Dutch Barge Company Thursday to supply a complete thruster package. Thrustmaster to Ink Deal with Dutch Barge Company at OTC

Thrustmaster of Texas, a manufacturer of commercial marine propulsion and thrusters based out of Houston, said it will sign a contract with the Dutch Barge Company during the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The deal, to be reached at OTC, will conclude with a press conference hosted by Thrustmaster's president Joe Bekker in the Reliant center press conference room. Thrustmaster is staged to supply a complete thruster package to outfit a multipurpose offshore supply vessel that will be classed by Buereau Veritas for dynamic positioning class two operations.

OTC Announces 2013 “Spotlight on New Technology” Award Recipients

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), which takes place May 6– 9, in Houston, has announced 15 technologies that will receive the 2013 Spotlight on New Technology Award recognizing innovative new products that provide significant impact for offshore exploration and production. The awards will be presented May 6, in Reliant Center. The Spotlight on New Technology Awards, which are for OTC exhibitors, showcase the latest and most advanced hardware and software technologies that are leading the industry into the future. “Our Spotlight Award winners ask, ‘What if?’ and ‘Why not?’” said Spotlight Award Committee Chair Helge Hove Haldorsen.

Noble, OTC Distinguished Achievement Award

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) will present the 2009 Distinguished Achievement Awards to Peter G. Noble for his marine design innovations and to Sakhalin Energy Investment Company for the Sakhalin II Phase 2 Project. The presentation will take place at the annual OTC Awards Luncheon on 5 May at Reliant Center in Houston, Texas, USA. The OTC will be held 4-7 May 2009, marking the event's 40th anniversary. Offshore: OTC Announces Technology Winners

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) announces 15 winners for its inaugural Spotlight on New Technology Program. These winners are recognized before, during and after the 35th annual OTC, 3-6 May, Reliant Center at Reliant Park in Houston. New Technology program, " said Rod Allan, OTC .04 Chairman. Applications for the Spotlight on New Technology were distributed at OTC .03 and were due 9 January 2004. Submissions had to meet four criteria: new and innovative, proven, broad interest, and significant impact. Winners will be recognized on site at this year's conference, scheduled May 3-6, on the exhibition floor and in the registration area. Spotlight on New Technology will continue as an annual recognition program coinciding with OTC.

OTC Celebrates 35 Years of Innovation

The annual Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is scheduled to convene in Houston's Reliant Center on May 3-6. The event, expecting to draw more than 2,000 exhibitors and 50,000 attendees, celebrates 35 years of innovation and the importance of offshore resources. Aptly themed "Innovation Without Limits," OTC will feature nearly 50 technical sessions and more than 340 technical presentations, introducing the latest offshore technology to participants. OTC's annual agenda overviews technology for offshore drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection, which demonstrates the conference's comprehensive coverage. During the four-day event, OTC is scheduled to deliver notable speakers, presentations, and general sessions within the 398,000 net square feet of exhibit space.

OTC is a Success

New technologies and new ideas to sustain the growth of the industry overflowed at this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), bringing a record 51,320 attendees to Houston for four days. The conference was held 2-5 May at Reliant Center at Reliant Park in Houston. “Industry leaders gathered in sessions focused on the future of financing the offshore oil and gas industry to meet the world’s increasing energy demands and on recruiting personnel to replace the aging workforce,” said Rod Allan, OTC .05 Chairman. Allan added that an array of new technologies was presented for the first time. The Spotlight on New Technology program highlighted 14 innovative technologies that are already making the industry more successful.

OTC Announces New Board Members

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) board of directors elected the 2004-2005 chairman and vice-chairman during this year’s event that took place 5-8 May at Reliant Center at Reliant Park in Houston. Members of the OTC Board are appointed to four-year terms by their respective society or organization. The OTC Board includes 13 representatives, 11 from OTC’s sponsoring organizations and two from OTC’s endorsing organizations. The two principal officers, the Chairman and the Vice Chairman, are elected for two-year terms by the Board during their annual meeting. The 2004-2005 OTC Chairman is Rod Allan, Manager of Core Expertise for Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling, Inc. Allan has served four years on the OTC board and succeeds Charlie Richards of C.A.
