This authorisation underscores the continuing level of confidence the USCG places in the technical expertise and ability of Lloydâs Register to verify compliance with safety requirements for US-flagged vessels. âDangerous goodsâ are hazardous substances, the carriage of which requires special safety measures to minimise the risk to vessels, crews and ports. Water and ventilation systems, personnel protection apparatus and fire detection equipment are some of the areas that require specialised scrutiny onboard ships carrying dangerous goods.
