ABS Launches "My DigitalFleet" for Marine and Offshore Operators
One of the world's largest maritime classification societies American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) on Tuesday launched a web-based digital platform that "delivers real-time data-driven insights to improve fleet efficiency, reduce costs and help manage risks," for marine and offshore operators.The platform, called My DigitalFleet, is, according to ABS, a significant step forward for the digitalization of the maritime industry.Christopher J. MAN Diesel’s 32/44CR Type Approval
At the MAN Diesel works in Augsburg, Germany, the first production version of the 32/44CR recently completed its Type Approval program in the presence of representatives from the shipyard, the ship owner and the Classification Societies American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, Det Norske Veritas, Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, China Classification Society and Registro Italiano Navale. As a result of the approval, the engine is now certified for use as both a propulsion engine and to drive shipboard generator sets.
Thrane & Thrane SSAS Certified
Thrane & Thrane said that the company’s mini-C solution for Ship Security Alert System (SSAS), the TT-3000SSA Capsat® Ship Security Alert, has received five new type approvals by the following classification societies: American Bureau of Shipping (ABS); Chinese Classification Society (CCS); Germanischer Lloyds (GL); Government of India Ministry of Shipping; and Polski Rejestr Statkow (PRS). Thrane & Thrane has earlier received type approvals by Lloyd’s Register EMEA as well as Inmarsat.
