The Norwegian company Seatrans Ship Management has signed up 20 vessels to the DNV GL fleet performance management solution ECO Insight. The contract covers 13 chemical tankers and seven dry-cargo vessels.

“We need to have full insight into the performance of our fleet and use this to continually improve our operations. ECO Insight will help us to achieve this,” says Gisle Rong, Managing Director Seatrans Ship Management.

“The fact that it is also easy to install and allows us to harmonize operational and technical reporting onboard were also important factors for choosing ECO Insight,” he adds.

“We are very pleased to welcome Seatrans Ship Management to the ECO Insight family. Our solution has been implemented on more than 750 vessels so far, many of them are tanker companies,” says Torsten Büssow, Head of Fleet Performance Management at DNV GL.

DNV GL’s performance management portal ECO Insight enriches customers’ own fleet reports with industry data, such as Automatic Identification System (AIS), weather, or fuel, and provides unique benchmarking capabilities.

Advanced engineering methods, for example hull fouling prediction based on CFD, are also packaged into the portal. ECO Insight has become one of the largest performance solutions in shipping since it was launched in 2015.
