Latest DoD Navy Contracts

Amongst the latest contracts Department of Defense, Navy, contracts are those to Armstrong Marine, for barges and ship paintwork maintenance; to  3PSC for operation & maintenance of naval survey ships; and to NASSCO for repairs & alterations to 'USS Kauffman' (FFG 59). Armstrong Marine Inc., Port Angeles, Wash., is being awarded a $38,362,181 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of marine paint and maintenance barges and associated installation, support, shipping and travel.

Maersk Completes Acquisition of 3PSC

Maersk Line, Limited (MLL) has completed its acquisition of 3PSC, a privately-held ship operator based in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The acquisition demonstrates MLL’s longstanding commitment to ship operation and management services for the national defense of the United States, and solidifies MLL’s position as a leading government contractor. Under the terms of the agreement, MLL will take over 3PSC’s current contract for the operation and maintenance of special mission ships owned by the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command. New Navy Contract

3PSC LLC, Cape Canaveral, Fla., is being awarded a $19,216,896 firm-fixed-price contract for the operation and maintenance of six Military Sealift Command (MSC) oceanographic survey ships worldwide. Six of MSC's seven oceanographic ships are multipurpose and perform acoustic, biological, physical and geophysical surveys, providing much of the U.S. military's information on the ocean environment. These ships use multi-beam, wide-angle, precision sonar systems that make it possible to continuously chart a broad section of ocean floor. The seventh oceanographic survey ship collects data in coastal regions around the world. The data collected helps improve technology in undersea warfare, ship detection and charting the world's coastlines.

DynCorp Wins $35M For USNS Subcontract

DynCorp has received a five-year, $35 million subcontract to provide operational support to the United States Naval Ship (USNS) Hayes and USNS Waters, Naval Special Mission ships that support test and range operations in Florida. The USNS Hayes, one of the acoustically quietest surface ships in the world, operates from Port Canaveral, Fla., and supports the U.S. Navy's underwater sound range at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC). Because of its special design, the Hayes is the only ship in the U.S. Navy capable of performing the full-spectrum of active and passive ship acoustic signature measurements required for new and recently overhauled Naval surface ships and submarines.
