Dales Marine Launches New Aquaculture Boat

Dales Marine Services launched a new multi-cat style vessel Réalt na Farraige, a boat built to service the aquaculture sector and significant as its the first newbuild for the Aberdeen facility in more than 33 years.Réalt na Farraige was lowered into the water for the first time on the March  5, 2022 at the Dales Marine's facilities in Aberdeen, with quayside support services provided by Whytes Crane Hire and McIntosh Plant Hire. Forum Delivers 350th RT Torque Machine

Forum Energy Technologies, Inc. said it has designed, manufactured, tested and delivered its 350th rotational torque (RT) torque machine to TAM International, a globally recognized downhole inflatable packer leader. The torque machine, or bucking unit as it is commonly referred, was manufactured at the Forum AMC facility in Aberdeen, U.K. This represents the sixth unit that TAM has purchased from Forum in three years, and is a testament to TAM’s growth plans, as well as their trust in Forum’s equipment and global support network.

Rigmarine Opens Aberdeen Facility

Lifting and marine product specialist Rigmarine has opened its fourth global facility in the rural village of Insch, 30 miles to the northwest of Aberdeen, Scotland. The site, strategically positioned to serve the offshore oil and gas, renewables, construction, break bulk, shipping and marine industries, joins other Rigmarine locations in Baku, Azerbaijan; Aktau, Kazakhstan; and Sharjah, UAE. As part of the Gaylin Group, this is the 10th international hub alongside others in Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, China and Indonesia.

Semco Maritime strengthens Management Team

The international contracting and engineering company Semco Maritime has strengthened its Aberdeen team with three new appointments to support its continued growth. Brian Donaldson takes up the role of business development manager, with Colin Stewart and Gustav Ferrao appointed as assistant accountant and senior systems engineer respectively. Donaldson is a mechanical engineer and a member of the Institute of Measurement & Control. Donaldson's primary focus is to grow Semco's business in the UK, particularly in regards to Aberdeen based clients. “It is exciting to join Semco's team at this important phase in the company’s development,” said Donaldson. As assistant accountant, Stewart will support the Aberdeen-based finance team with the accountancy operations of Semco's UK facilities.

Aker Wins Statoil Subsea Trees Contract

Aker Solutions to supply Statoil with subsea trees & control modules for the Visund Field on the Norwegian continental shelf. The contract is for the supply of five subsea trees and eleven control modules, and is valued at aproximately NOK 300-million. Visund is an oil and gas field located 22 kilometres north-east of the Gullfaks field in the Tampen area of the Norwegian North Sea. The field came on stream in the spring of 1999. The five subsea trees for the Visund field will be equipped with Aker Solutions' most advanced subsea technology. This technology enables oil and gas production from intelligent wells which provides higher oil and gas recovery and more reservoir data.

Titan Torque Turnover Up 118%

Titan Torque, the oilfield services specialist, has announced it has increased turnover by 118%, increased the size of its Aberdeen facility and launched a new service to the drilling sector. Rapidly-expanding Titan has secured additional operational space to meet  demand for its drilling solutions and equipment. The company now has added an 8,000sq ft unit across from its 10,000sq ft base at East Tullos Industrial Estate. Proserv Offshore Windfarm Contract

Proserv Offshore, a global provider of subsea maintenance, abandonment and decommissioning solutions and services to the offshore energy industry, has recently been awarded a substantial contract with DONG Energy to supply and operate their innovative wind generator pile cleaning solution at DONG’s Walney 1 Windfarm, located in the Irish Sea. The specialized Marine Growth Removal (MGR) solution was initially developed and manufactured by Proserv Offshore’s Aberdeen facility for a major installation contractor in the North Sea. They required a solution to speed up the pile cleaning process and avoid possible costly maintenance work in the future.

River Dee Shiprepairers Awarded Contract

Aberdeen’s River Dee Shiprepairers, part of the A&P Group, has won a second drydocking contract from BP Oil following the successful completion of the scheduled repair to the 2,734 dwt coastal tanker Border Jouster. River Dee initially quoted for the repair of the Border Jouster but were then asked to make it a two-ship deal; involving the 2,257 dwt Border Warrior. Work on the Border Jouster, which arrived in Aberdeen on May 13th, included overhaul of the main engine and auxiliary engine room equipment, tailshaft and underwater valves, refurbishment of the cargo pumps and the boiler unit, and washing and painting the ship’s hull. The tanker has now passed sea trials and will go back into service by May 29th.
