USJ-IMECO Acquires Joiner Systems

Affiliates of USJ-IMECO Holding Company, LLC , a portfolio company of J.F. Lehman & Company (JFLCO), today announced the acquisition of Joiner Systems, Inc. Joiner Systems, headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, primarily designs, engineers and manufactures accommodation systems for commercial and government ships. USJ-IMECO is an independent provider of turnkey marine joiner, distributed systems and electro-mechanical solutions for government and commercial customers involved in new ship construction and vessel maintenance, repair and overhaul. Headquartered in Crozet, Va. and Iron Mountain, Mich., the company employs approximately 700 people across the United States. USJ and IMECO were acquired by J.F.

HB Rentals Introduces More Compact Accommodation Module

HB Rentals, a global accommodation specialist to the oil and gas industry, has launched an innovative new 18ft four-bed accommodation module to meet client demand for a smaller, lighter accommodation module supporting the Middle East offshore market. A global supplier of modular accommodation systems designed for living and working at remote project sites unveiled its new 18ft module on the first day of ADIPEC, the largest regional oil and gas conference in the Gulf region. Almaco Modernizes M/S Kristina Katarina

Almaco Group has been awarded by Kristina Cruises the contract to modernize passenger cabins and public areas on the owner's new flagship M/S Kristina Katarina. The work will be done in Kotka, Finland, and will be completed by the end of July 2010. Almaco's Accommodation Systems division will refurbish all 195 passenger cabins and the corresponding bathrooms. The scope of work also includes the modernization of cabin corridors and passenger staircases, the renovation of the conference room and children's play area as well as modernization and modifications done in the buffet and a la carte restaurants. The new flagship of Kristina Cruises, M/S Kristina Katarina, will start sailing under the Finnish flag in August 2010.

LD Lines Newbuild with Turnkey Works

Almaco was contracted to deliver a complete turnkey project for cabins, corridors, galley, provision stores and refrigeration machinery for the latest newbuilding ferry vessel being built at Singapore Technologies Marine's shipyard for Louis Dreyfus Armateurs' subsidiary LD Lines. The contract was signed in November 2008 and the project is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2010. Almaco’s Accommodation Systems division will deliver a full turnkey for 226 Cabins and Corridors on both passenger and crew decks. The scope of supply includes design, supply of material, assembly, installation onboard and all background works such as ducting, piping, insulation, electrical. The design and standards of the cabins are of higher quality than those offered in earlier vessels.

Maritime Montering Chooses Alu Design

Alu Design & Services announced that it has received its 10th contract from Maritime Montering AS, a global supplier of complete marine accommodation systems. This order is for YN 66 at STX Brevik for E.R. Schiffahrt, Germany.   The cooperation between the companies began in January 2009 when Maritime Montering awarded its first contract to Alu Design. To date, the company has used Alu Design products in its deliveries to Båtbygg AS, Fiskerstrand Verft AS, Havyard Leirvik AS, Hellesøy Verft AS, Karstensens AS, STX Aukra, STX Brevik and Westcon AS. Upcoming orders are already planned for deliveries to Vietnam, Spain, Poland, India and Romania.   (www.alu-design.no)

Adax Group Aquires Norac AS

Norac AS is forging ahead as one of the leading manufacturers of marine accommodation systems by joining ADAX Industrier, which will further boost its growth and development. "This acqusition represents substantial growth for the Adax Group, giving both key geographical and manufacturing synergies," says corporate head Lars G. Otterlei. "Norac's strong brand and international experience fits well with our strategic plans for development and global expansion. Together with Norac, the Adax Group will have 700 employees, 500 of which are outside Norway," he said. Otterlei anticipates annual ADAX turnovers to reach NOK 500 million in 2006.
