V.Group Inks Crew Payment Deal with ShipMoney

ShipMoney announced a new long-term strategic partnership with ship management compnay V. Group to digitalize its seafarers’ payroll system. The deal also enables V. Group to make international corporate remittances, network payments, money transfers and all other forms of shoreside and onboard payments.Companies using ShipMoney’s Account Management System can pay crew members instantly with a single file upload or from their own crewing/payroll system via an API integration.

CMA CGM Adopts Container Firefighting System

French shipping company CMA CGM has tapped VIKING Life-Saving Equipment to supply the HydroPen drilling and spraying solution for container firefighting duties on board 85 of its vessels.Where conventional firefighting solutions dowse containers on the outside, the HydroPen is attached to a standard hose as a combined drill and spray unit that penetrates the container door before extinguishing the fire with water, foam or CO2. Maritime risk management and environmental assessment organization RightShip launched its new Safety Score in response to industry feedback that called for more transparent methods of assessing vessels.RightShip said it has spent the last two years working in collaboration with stakeholders from across the shipping industry. MAN in Global Service Deal with Wallem

German solution provider to the marine and energy sectors, MAN Energy Solutions (MES) has signed a Global Key Account Management contract with Hong Kongbased Wallem Group.The contract covers the supply of spares and services to MAN main engines, generators and turbochargers aboard vessels managed by Wallem, the provider of technology-driven maritime solutions.According to a press release from Augsburg-based MES, the global agreement covers all offices of the Wallem Group and provides access to a dedicated global and local key account manager from MAN PrimeServ, MAN Energy Solutions’ after-sales division. COSCO Places Large Lubricants Order with Shell

Shell Marine said it has been awarded China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company’s (COSCO SHIPPING) largest marine lubricants order in 2017. This order will include the full range of marine lubricants and technical services for seven out of COSCO SHIPPING’S 10 new generation Ultra Large Container Carriers (ULCCs) with capacities of approximately 20,000 TEUs each, ordered in 2015 and due to be in service from 2018-2019. Shell Marine has supplied marine lubricants and services to over 140 COSCO SHIPPING vessels since 2004.

Hamburg-based shipping group Reederei Hamburger Lloyd will move its fleet of nine containerships and six bulk carriers to Marlink’s Sealink Plus VSAT package including unlimited L-band backup.
