Jifmar Acquire Acta Marine Workboat Business

Jifmar Offshore Services and Acta Marine have concluded an agreement where Jifmar will acquire all workboat activities of Acta Marine, a deal with includes all 26 workboats, the crews (200 employees), the Netherlands based organisation and all existing contracts. Acta Marine's Offshore Wind Construction Support and Walk-to-Work activities are excluded from the transaction.Acta Marine's Workboat activities will continue to operate from its Den Helder office in the Netherlands as a branch office under the Jifmar brand. This branch specializes in shallow water and near coastal marine projects.

Ulstein to Design Two More Offshore Wind Vessels for Acta Marine

Ulstein Design & Solutions has signed a contract with Turkey's Tersan Shipyard for two methanol-fuelled ULSTEIN SX216 Construction Service Operating Vessel (CSOV) designs. The vessels will be constructed for the Dutch company Acta Marine and will be number 3 and 4 with the TWIN X-STERN solution in the Acta Marine fleet.The SX216 vessel series has a length of 89,9m, a beam of 19,2m and accommodates up to 135 POB. It has a walk-to-work (W2W) motion-compensated gangway for safe personnel transfer to the turbinesā€¦

Turkish Shipyard Cuts First Steel for Offshore Wind Farm Support Vessel for Dutch Owner

Turkey's Tersan Shipyard last week celebrated the steel cutting of NB1121, the second offshore wind farm support vessel being built for Acta Marine projects.The shipyard is building two DP2 construction service operation vessels (CSOV) powered with Methanol and MDO/HVO for the Dutch vessel owner. The construction of the first vessel kicked off in January.Designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS with the cooperation of Acta Marine, the two vessels are planned to serve in the offshore wind market.

First Steel Cut in Turkey for Acta Marine's New Offshore Wind Vessel Duo

The steel cutting ceremony of the first of two next-generation Methanol MDO/HVO-powered DP2 Construction Service Operating Vessels for Acta Marine was held on January 18, 2023, at Tersan in Turkey. The SX216 design of the vessel has been developed exclusively and in close collaboration with Ulstein Design & Solutions AS.The steel cutting is the official kick-off for the construction of the Acta Marine CSOVs at the shipyard. The 89-meter-long vessels will have motion-compensated crane and a motion-compensated gangway provided by SMSTā€¦

Alka Marine, Acta Marine Partner to Purchase a Damen Multicat

Alka Marine and Acta Marine have teamed up within a joint venture (JV) to purchase a Damen Multicat 2712, operated by Alka Marine.The JV company called Alka Marine International, is incorporated under the French law and registered in Saint Nazaire. The vessel is named Coastal Aurora.Built in 2014, the 27-meter-long vessel is adapted to offshore wind support operations, including anchoring works, subsea structure maintenance, among others. With its 2 x 9.8-ton cranes at 16.5-meter, and a 150-ton winch, the Coastal Aurora has a bollard pull of 34 tons and has a 150-square-meter deck space.

Siemens Gamesa Charters Acta Marine Vessel for Offshore Wind Farm Work in France

Dutch offshore vessel owner Acta Marine has secured a charter deal with wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa for its Acta Auriga construction support operations vessel.The vessel will support Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energyā€™s commissioning activities of 71 offshore wind turbines at the Fécamp offshore wind farm and 64 offshore wind turbines at the Calvados offshore wind farm, both in France.The vessel will support the commissioning of Fécamp in 2023 and Calvados in 2024.The Fécamp offshore wind farm will be equipped with 71 7-MW turbines and the Calvados offshore wind farm with 64 7-MW turbinesā€¦

Acta Marine Orders Methanol-fueled CSOVs

Dutch offshore services provider Acta Marine announced it has signed a contract for the construction of two methanol MDO/HVO powered DP2 construction service operation vessels (CSOVs) at Turkish shipyard Tersan with two optional vessels for delivery at a later stage. GE Charters Acta Marine's SOV for French Offshore Wind Farm Work

Offshore wind turbine maker GE Renewable Energy has chartered Acta Marine's Service Operation Vessel Acta Auriga for the commissioning activities of 80 Haliade 150-6MW turbines at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm in France.The vessel will start operating on behalf of GE Renewable Energy in the second quarter of 2022 when the offshore wind turbine installation is set to kick off.Departing from the Port of Saint-Nazaire, the vessel will assist in the mechanical completion and commissioning of the 80 Haliade 150-6MW offshore wind turbines located around 12km off the coast.

Acta Centaurus Supports Deutsche Bucht

Netherlands-based workboat provider Acta Marine said that its new walk-to-work vessel Acta Centaurus with SMST equipment in Deutsche Bucht has carried out first operations.Acta Centaurus has now been working for 1.5 months at the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm. SMST designs and builds offshore equipment. Acta Marine Names Third Walk to Work CSV

Acta Marine has held a naming ceremony for its latest walk-to-work construction support vessel Acta Centaurus in Den Helder, the Netherlands.Mrs. Marianne van Oord named the vessel Acta Centaurus. Centaurus being one of the stellar constellations in the northern hemisphere. The ceremony took place in Den Helder with many guests attending the festivities and the tours on board the brand new vessel.Mrs. Van Oord wished Acta Centaurus and her crew and charterers crew safe sailings in supporting the growth of offshore renewable energy.After taking delivery from Ulstein Verft, Norway end April 2019 Acta Centaurus had her maiden voyage to Den Helder.

Acta Centaurus Nears Completion

Netherlands-based Acta Marine announced that its next offshore wind farm installation vessel will be ready in next two months."ā€˜Acta Centaurus will be completed and ready for construction support vessel (CSV)/service operation vessel (SOV) operation in a little more than two months," said a press release from the company.Acta Marineā€™s site team is following the vesselā€™s progress on a daily basis, such as the installation of the helideck on Sunday.ā€œThe main topside equipment, including tower, gangway and crane, has been installed and tested previously, the helideck was the final equipment installation to take place,ā€ says Marcus de Greefā€¦

Ulstein delivers Acta Auriga before time

Acta Marineā€™s newbuild Walk to Work vessel Acta Auriga, was delivered from Ulstein Verft on 28 March 2018, three days before schedule. High quality and delivery precision were crucial when Acta Marine placed the order at Ulstein Verft. Already during the construction Acta Marine secured a charter with Ocean Breeze Energy to deploy Acta Auriga for logistical support and maintenance activities on BARD Offshore 1 400 MW wind farm. ā€œThis vessel will be the next level in the market and very well suited to operate in the offshore, and specifically the renewable market. We are very content with the project follow-up and the early delivery by Ulstein.We will now get ready to bring her out to the Offshore Wind Farm to commence work,ā€ says Rob Boer, managing director in Acta Marine.

Acta Marineā€™s Newbuild Completes Sea Trials

The SOV W2W vessel Acta Auriga, currently under construction at Ulstein Verft, Norway for owner Acta Marine, has successfully completed sea trials. The walk-to-work vessel is custom-designed for the offshore energy industry.  Together with a 3D crane, SMST gangway and elevator tower, and the X-BOW and X-STERN design solutions, the vessel will break new grounds in workability, in-field agility, offshore logistics and comfort on board for 120 persons combined with a low fuel consumption, the builder said. The vessel, of Ulsteinā€™s SX195 design, has returned to the construction yard for completion before delivery to Acta Marine. The vessel has been awarded a two-year charter for Operations and maintenance work at the German offshore wind farm BARD Offshore 1.

Acta Marine Orders Second CSV at Ulstein Verft

The Netherlands based Acta Marine, which has a newbuild walk to work construction support vessel (CSV) nearing completion at Ulstein Verft in Norway, has ordered a second CSV at the yard. The second vessel is scheduled for delivery Q2 2019, and is of the SX195 design, the same as the first vessel, Acta Auriga, which will soon go to sea trials before embarking on a two-year charter for operations at BARD Offshore 1 wind farm Germany. Rob Boer, managing director at Acta Marine, said the company opted to order the sister vessel because it was pleased with the first project: ā€œOur first CSVā€¦

ELA Offshore Accommodation for OSV SeaMar Splendid

ELA Container Offshore GmbH delivered an Offshore Living Quarter to Netherlands based SeaMar Services BV in Den Helder. The container was placed on board the Offshore Support Vessel ā€˜SeaMar Splendidā€™ and provided extra accommodation for subsea work in the North Sea. ā€œWe decided to hire an A60 ELA Offshore Living Quarter with DNV 2.7-2 offshore certification as SeaMar standards demands quality and all rental of additional high critical equipment need to comply to all local and international legislation on- and offshoreā€, says Sybrand Spijksma, Technical Superintendent at SeaMar Services BV. Acta Marine Inks VSAT Deal with Alphatron Marine

Alphatron Marine announced it has signed a leasing agreement with Acta Marine for to provide satellite hardware and data solution packages for 13 vessels. Alphatron Marineā€™s VSAT system including Wireless access will be integrated into the IT infrastructure on the Acta Marine fleet of Multicats, Tugs and Shoalbusters, enabling an unlimited dataflow for both operations and crew welfare. The vessels will use Alphatron Marineā€™s new global iDirect platform, the first installation was done just one week after signing the contract on board Coastal Chariotā€¦

Floating Tidal Energy Platform Up and Running

The first months of operating the BlueTEC tidal energy platform have been a success, according to the BlueTEC Texel Tidal partnership: with every tidal flow, the platform supplies electricity into the Dutch national grid. The success has led project partners to work toward developing plans for the installation of a second, larger turbine. ā€œGetting the platform from the drawing board to a grid-connected operating reality in just six months is amazing,ā€ said Allard van Hoeken, Head of New Energy at Bluewater Energy Services and recent recipient of the first Prince Friso Engineers Award.
