BLUE Acquires 20|20 Marine Energy Consultancy

Specialist maritime consultancy 20|20 Marine Energy (20|20) founded by bunker industry veteran Adrian Tolson has been acquired by UK-based BLUE, the business, brand and communications consultancy for the marine and energy markets.20|20 will be re-named BLUE Insight to provide commercial advisory and research services for key transformative areas within the maritime industry.The practice - which will be led by Adrian Tolson, 20|20’s Senior Partner - provides BLUE with a physical presence in North America, as well as wider and deeper support to BLUE’s current clients.BLUE Insight will provide strategic commercial advisory services for business-critical areas that are fundamentally changing the marine and energy markets and evolving and disrupting traditional business models.

Definitive Study On The Impact Of Global Sulphur Regulations

Adrian Tolson Launches 20|20 Marine Energy

A new consultancy established by well known industry veteran and leading marine energy expert Adrian Tolson, was launched Tuesday. A new consultancy, 20|20 Marine Energy, was launched to help companies create and implement strategies for purchasing and selling marine energy, as well as supporting the development of bunkering infrastructure. In a changing market of increasing risk and complexity, 20|20 works with ship owners, operators and financial institutions on the buy-side, fuel suppliers and traders on the sell-side, as well as ports, and local and national governments on developing infrastructure projects. The company also provides research and insight services. 20|20 has been established by Adrian Tolson, one of the industry’s leading marine energy experts.

Kounalakis Joins OW Bunker N. America

OW Bunker, a reseller and physical supplier of marine fuels, announced the appointment of Georgia Kounalakis to its physical supply operation in North America. OW Bunker has  announced that it has time chartered an additional barge in Panama to further strengthen its physical operations. OW Bunker Begins US West Coast Operations

OW Bunker first delivery in LA_and Long Beach

OW Bunker has confirmed that its newly established physical distribution operation in Los Angeles and Long Beach, California, is now fully operational. The company’s first physical delivery was made to the containership CMA CGM Norma from the double-hulled barge Lily Blair earlier this month. Since then, OW Bunker has completed more deliveries as part of its service that covers the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and offers a full range of quality products, including RMG380 (HSFO and LSFO), RMK500, RMK700 and MGO.

OW Bunker Expands North America Distribution

OW Bunker, a physical distributors and resellers of marine fuel, announced the launch of physical distribution operations in Los Angeles and Long Beach, further expanding its presence in North America. The move comes less than 18 months after launching a physical offering offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as a recent deal signed in February 2014 with UNIPEC America to provide products at the BOSTCO fuel oil terminal in Houston. OW Bunker Contracted for BOSTCO Terminal

OW Bunker announced that it has signed an exclusive alliance with UNIPEC America to provide products at the new BOSTCO (Battleground Oil Specialty Terminal) fuel oil terminal in Houston. The move further expands the company’s physical presence in the region, complementing its existing operations in the Gulf of Mexico and Panama. UNIPEC America has negotiated the rights to supply bunkers ex-pipe at the new BOSTCO terminal. In conjunction with this, OW Bunker has developed a partnership agreement with UNIPEC America to provide calling vessels with quality products and services from January 2014.

OW Bunker: More North American Appointments

OW Bunker, one of the world’s leading suppliers and traders of marine fuels and lubricants, has announced the appointment of two additional personnel to its expanding operations in North America, as Senior Account Manager and Junior Trader bolster teams in Connecticut and Houston. Chemoil Concerned Re ISO 8217 Revisions

SGX Mainboard-listed Chemoil (SGX-ST: CHEL.SI), an independent physical suppliers of marine fuel, is urging the International Standard Organization’s (ISO) working group which is currently reviewing changes to bunker fuel specifications, ISO 8217, to ensure there was a broad, cross-industry consensus for a fair and equitable revision to the Standard. Responding to recent claims that current recommendations ISO/DIS (Draft International Standard) 8217 were too lenient and in favour of the bunker supplier, Chemoil has highlighted a number of issues raised within the proposed revision that, if implemented, could trigger rising bunker fuel costs for ship operators and will increase disputes over fuel specifications.

Chemoil Postions for Expansion in N. America

Chemoil said it will continue to pioneer the provision of sustainable marine fuel solutions to help ship operators meet the emissions reductions requirements proposed for enforcement across the coastlines of the U.S. and Canada. This follows a joint application to the IMO by both the USA and Canada at the end of March 2009 to create an Emissions Control Area (ECA) that would stretch across more than 200 nautical miles of coastal waters to help lower emissions from vessels traveling to and from ports in the region.
