Exxon Considers Selling Stake in LNG Terminal Offshore Italy

Exxon Mobil Corp is considering selling its majority stake in Italy's main regasification terminal as part of a wider strategy to divest from non-core assets, the company said in a statement on Wednesday. The Rovigo liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal is owned by Exxon's subsidiary ExxonMobil Italiana Gas (70.7%), QatarEnergy subsidiary Qatar Terminal Company Limited (22%) and Snam Spa SRG.MI (7.3%). Snam, an Italian gas grid operator, has the first right of refusal should a partner decide to divest.

Crown LNG Awards FEED Deal to Aker Solutions for Offshore LNG Terminal in India

Norwegian group Crown LNG has signed a deal with Aker Solutions as the main contractor to deliver a concrete gravity-based structure (GBS) for Crown’s offshore LNG terminal at Kakinada, India.Under the agreement, Aker Solutions and key subcontractors will first conduct the front-end engineering and design for the LNG terminal. Aker Solutions’ scope includes technical development of the concrete foundation and topsides, as well as the pipeline between the offshore regasification terminal and the onshore gas grid.

Adriatic LNG Receives 600th Cargo

Adriatic LNG, the company which operates the regasification terminal located off the Veneto coastline, announces the arrival of the 600th carrier, the Al Jassasiya. The carrier left Ras Laffan Port in Qatar, delivering a cargo of about 140,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG), equivalent to nearly 85 million cubic meters of gas. The event was celebrated on the terminal with a brief ceremony that involved the vessel's personnel and Adriatic LNG's staff, including the Operations Manager Fabian Erle, who delivered a recognition to Georgios Pissaris, the Captain of the Al Jassasiya. Adriatic LNG's Commercial Manager, Corrado Papa commented: "Once again our regasification terminal confirmed its strategic role for the national and European energy supply system.

Croatia Seeks Investors to Develop Adriatic LNG Terminal

Croatia's power utility HEP and gas transmission system operator Plinacro on Tuesday invited investors to express interest in building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the northern Adriatic, part of the country's drive for energy independence. The terminal on the island of Krk is also part of Europe's wider efforts to reduce its reliance on Russian energy supplies and has gained new importance following the cancellation of the South Stream project. It is aimed at receiving, storing and re-gasifying LNG, with a nominal capacity of 6 billion cubic metres. HEP and Plinacro, in a joint venture named LNG Croatia, said potential investors should submit their letters of interest for joining the project as soon as possible.

Kvaerner Wins EPC Contract for Hebron GBS Project

ExxonMobil Canada Properties has released the option for Kvaerner's joint venture company Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors to provide the full scope of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the Hebron Project gravity based structure (GBS). The contract value for Kvaerner's share of the full EPC contract is approximately $1.5 billion and includes work conducted to date on the Hebron project. Aker Solutions Wins Hebron GBS Project

Kiewit-Aker Contractors, a 50/50 joint venture between Peter Kiewit Infrastructure and Aker Solutions, has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Canada Properties (EMCP) for the Hebron Project gravity based structure (GBS). The contract is for Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) and site preparation, with the option at ExxonMobil's discretion to subsequently provide detailed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services. The contract value for Aker Solutions' share of the FEED and site preparation is $70m. The Hebron Field is an oil and gas development in the Atlantic Ocean located 350 kilometres offshore from St. John's, in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

RINA Classes First Offshore LNG FSRU

Genoa-based classification society RINA has taken a lead in the developing market for floating LNG terminals. It has been chosen to class the first offshore Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), and is providing studies and support for a number of further offshore LNG projects, including the newbuilding which is likely to be the world’s second offshore LNG FSRU. Addressing the Mare Forum Houston conference, Massimo Volta, RINA’s General Manager America, said, “Italy leads the world in implementing offshore LNG terminals. We have recently brought the Adriatic LNG terminal on stream, and we have five more live projects for floating and gravity-based offshore LNG terminals around our coasts.
