STM Validation: Interoperable Ship and Shore Center Services

Inspired by the European program for Air Traffic Managemen, the Sea Traffic Management (STM) methodology has been developed by the Swedish Maritime Administration MonaLisa project to define a set of systems and procedures to guide and monitor maritime traffic. The STM Validation project co-financed by the European Union has made the first operational tests with the shore center manufacturers. The key to the interoperability between different systems is the robust underlying infrastructure.

New Adveto ECDIS Training Program

Swedish ADVETO has with its close partners established a new ECDIS training program. During a seminar that was held recently at Adveto’s HQ in Stockholm the new Type specific training program (or ECDIS Familiarization Training) for Adveto’s type approved ECDIS was defined. “The type specific ECDIS training that we now can offer our customers are based on the recommendations from the Nautical Institute,” said Kent Sylvén, Managing Director of ADVETO.

Adveto to Upgrade, Support 26 Passenger Catamarans

Swedish Adveto has through its distributor Westronic in Bergen secured an order consisting of software and ECDIS-kernel upgrade and new continuous 36 month support for 26 High Speed Crafts (HSC) passenger catamarans. Sweden's Adveto ECDIS-4000 system on board 'National Geographics Explorer' upgraded to fulfil IMO compliance standard. During the vessel's recent visit to Scandinavia the National Geographics Explorer was successfully upgraded with the latest software from ADVETO. The new software release has been tested and meets the standards set for ECDIS by the IHO, with particular reference to the recent IHO circular ‘Update Report on IHO Action concerning ECDIS Software Issues’.
