Salem Harbor to Become Major Offshore Wind Port

New Contracts, Extensions for MMA Offshore

MMA Offshore, the provider of marine solutions and expertise to the offshore oil and gas industry, has been awarded a number of new contract awards and extensions.AGR Australia has awarded MMA a two-vessel contract supporting the Noble Tom Prosser Rig as part of the Victorian government’s CarbonNet Project, said the Australian company.The contract is expected to start late this month with a duration of about 45 days, the owner and operator of 30+ offshore supply vessels said.Esso Australia Pty Ltd has awarded MMA a three-vessel contract, also supporting the Noble Tom Prosser Rig and commencing in direct continuation of the AGR contract.

AGR, First Geo to Merge

Norwegian offshore oil and gas consultancy and services companies First Geo (owned by Akastor), and AGR Bidco are set to merge."Akastor AS (Akastor), has entered into agreements with Silverfleet Capital, DNB Bank ASA and Nordea Bank Abp, filial i Norge (together the AGR stakeholders) to combine AGR Bidco AS (AGR) with First Geo AS," said a press statement.The Transaction will be carried out primarily as an asset deal, whereby assets in the current AGR legal structure and three legal entities will, together with First Geo, be transferred to a new legal structure, which in turn will be transferred to Akastor to establish the merged company.The merged company will be named AGR. Akastor will hold 100% of the shares in the company and 55% of the economic interest.

New Addition to DNV GL’s Veracity Platform

DNV GL will add a new third party software solution to Veracity, its open industry data platform, that is based on cleaned data collected from 80 000 oil and gas wells. AGR, the leading well design and drilling project management firm, has agreed to host its iQx software on the platform, which contains information that is vital to companies selecting locations of wells. Users, such as drilling engineers, can access information on numerous metrics including geology and bit performance, enabling them to make smarter and more efficient operational decisions. AGR has drilled more than 500 wells and developed the solution in reaction to the inefficiencies created by the lack of standardized, high quality information on comparable wells.

Solstad Farstad Bags New Contracts

TAQA Bratani has awarded Solstad Farstad ASA a contract for the Platform Supply Vessel PSV Far Spica (2013, PSV 08 CD Design). The contract is the duration of TAQA’s mobile drilling Campaign in the UK Sector, which is approx. 18 Months,   with expected commencement in Q1 2018. Far Spica is currently trading the North Sea Spot Market. AGR Well Management Limited has awarded SOFF a contract for the PSV Normand Aurora (2005, P105 Design). The contract duration is for 1 well firm + 1 well options supporting West Hercules in the UK Sector and the commencement is expected to take place March 2018. The firm period has an estimated duration of 75 days. Normand Aurora is currently trading the North Sea Spot Market.

Ship Carrying Brazilian Corn Heads to US

A ship carrying corn was scheduled to leave Brazil for the United States on Monday, three shipping agents said, as a strong dollar and plentiful South American supply makes importing corn attractive to U.S. buyers. The ship owned by Bunge Ltd, carrying 54,000 tonnes of corn, was scheduled to depart Itacoatiara Port on the Amazon river, data from Williams Shipping agents and Brazil-based Cargonave showed. A third source, who declined to be named, said the cargo was bound for the port of Wilmington, in North Carolina. Bunge did not respond to a request for comment. The sale reflects the increasing competitiveness of grains from Brazil, which has drastically increased output over the past decade and more recently has improved shipping logistics. TWMA Wins Waste Management Contract Offshore W. Africa

Environmental waste management contractor TWMA has won its first offshore service contract in West Africa, signifying its intention to expand its business in this important region. The contract was awarded by AGR Petroleum Services and is worth around $1.6m over six months. It covers supply, installation and operation of an integrated drilling waste management solution. Hyperdynamics Offshore Guinea Exploration Project
