ADNOC Logistics Joins LNG MFI

Kuwait to Let Private Sector Manage Ports

Kuwait's government plans legislation that will let the private sector manage commercial ports and the country's international airport, with the government retaining its ownership of the assets, a senior government official told Reuters on Tuesday. IRSHAD Acquires Damen Shoalbuster 2308

Abu Dhabi Petroleum Ports Operating Company (IRSHAD), a part of the ADNOC Group of Companies, has taken delivery of a Damen Shoalbuster 2308, named Al Marfa 1. During a ceremony at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld, the Netherlands, the company received the new vessel 3 weeks ahead of schedule. The delivery was attended by Zeid Zakaria, Senior Vice President, IRSHAD, Khalfan Ali Al Ali, Ship Building Projects Manager, IRSHAD, Pascal Slingerland, Damen Sales Manager Middle East, Jos van Woerkum, Director Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld and Peter Baars, Product Director Damen Shipyards IRSHAD will put the vessel to use maintaining single point buoy moorings. The close contact she will have with the buoys has necessitated Damen outfitting the vessel with a range of explosion-proof equipment.

Sheikh Ahmed receives “Maritime Visionary Award”

HH Sheikh Ahmad bin Saeed Al Maktoum received The Maritime Standard Special “Maritime Visionary Award” in recognition of his exceptional foresight in supporting and revitalizing the UAE’s maritime sector in his role as Chairman of Dubai World. The award was presented on November 6th 2014 at the Atlantis, The Palm Jumeirah, at a glittering ceremony where leaders representing all facets of the industry from the Middle East & Indian subcontinent were present to honour HH & recognize his exception contribution. Over 600 guests joined the function to honour HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed at The Maritime Standards Award where PR guru, journalist and writer Alistair Campbell was Master of Ceremonies & led the accolades accorded to HH.

Dubai Maritime City To Develop “The Dolphin Residence”

Dubai Maritime City (DMC), the world class maritime cluster in the heart of Dubai, today announced its partnership jointly with Sharaf Investments and Al Ali Property Investment (API) to develop “The Dolphin Residence” within the City, into a high-end iconic Freehold mixed use development complete with offices, private residences, a four star hotel, shopping mall, mosque, parking lot and leisure facilities. The partnership deal was signed by Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman, Dubai Maritime City and Mr. Sharafuddin Sharaf, Vice Chairman of Sharaf Investments & Mr. Mohammed Abdulrahim Al Ali, Chairman of the Board Al Ali Property Investment (API). The project will begin immediately and the building,  with an approximate allowable built up area of 1,384,496 sq.

Dana Gas Inks Adyard Offshore Platform Contract

Middle East’s leading regional private sector natural gas company, Dan Gas, has awarded Adyard Abu Dhabi a subsidiary of Interserve plc, a $17 million contract for the fabrication of an offshore platform for the Zora Field Development Project which spans the territorial waters of Sharjah and Ajman, UAE. The platform is an important element in the overall scope of the Zora project, the aim of which is to extract the reserves from the Zora field through an offshore facility and to transport the reserves via a 35km subsea pipeline to an onshore gas processing facility in Sharjah onshore area.

Kuwait invests $1.2 billion in bid for Northern Gulf gateway for new port facilities as regional market competition intensifies. A recent World Bank report ranked Kuwait in 36th place out of 155 countries in terms of the movement of goods and services through its ports, but traffic congestion at existing locations has prompted significant investment into new facilities in order to capitalise on commercial potential and secure gateway status for the Northern Gulf region.

MS&D 2011: Hamburg Conference on Maritime Security

Stéphane Beemelmans, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Defence, is to open the second MS&D, international conference and exhibition on maritime security and defence hamburg, in Hall A4 of the Hamburg Fair at 9:00 am on Wednesday 15 June. Other speakers at the Opening of this three-day international conference are Senator Michael Neumann, Hamburg Minister of the Interior and Sport; Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO Hamburg Messe und Congress, who will give a welcoming address; and Vice Admiral Axel Schimpf, Chief of Staff of the German Navy, who will give a keynote speech. The conference starts with introductory remarks by Vice Admiral (rtd) Lutz Feldt, Chairman of the Conference, which is split into two sections – a Security Panel and a Defence Panel.
