UAE's Adnoc Awards USD 1.6bln Contract to China’s CNPC

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has awarded contracts worth AED 5.88bn (US $1.6bn) for the world’s largest continuous 3D onshore and offshore seismic survey, covering an area up to 53,000 square kilometres, as the company continues to identify and unlock new opportunities and maximize value from its hydrocarbon resources and deliver on its 2030 smart growth strategy.Adding to the 2D and 3D seismic data already acquired across Abu Dhabi, the new seismic survey will cover an area of up to 30,000 km2 offshore and 23,000 km2 onshore.The contract has been awarded by ADNOC to BGP Inc., a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Company (CNPC)…

Enerpac Takes the Load for Lamprell Jack-Up Rig

High-pressure hydraulics specialist, Enerpac, with its official distributor Al Masaood Trading, Dubai, has supplied Lamprell, a provider of diversified fabrication, engineering and contracting services to the onshore and offshore energy industries, with an EVO-Series Synchronous Lifting System to weigh a newly completed jack-up rig. The Enerpac multifunctional synchronous lifting EVO system monitors and manages lifting, lowering, weighing, alignment and load transfer procedures of non-uniform distributed heavy loads.

First RoRo Ship Calls at Khalifa Port

The first scheduled Roll-On/Roll-Off (RoRo) vessel, MV Dream Angel, berthed at the Khalifa Port RoRo terminal on Monday, January 5, heralding the transition of Abu Dhabi Ports’ RoRo cargo, from Zayed Port to Khalifa Port. Operated by Nissan Motor Car Carrier (NMCC), the MV Dream Angel arrived from the Port of Yokohama and Port of Kanda in Japan laden with 164 car units for Abu Dhabi Ports’ key customer Al Masaood Automobiles, one of the region’s main distributors for Nissan and Infiniti. The new vehicles will next be sent to car dealers across the UAE.

MTU Engines First Choice for Emirates Boatbuilder

MTU distributor Al Masaood and Arabian yacht builder Gulf Craft sign preferred partner agreement. Under the agreement, the Arabian shipyard Gulf Craft will soon offer MTU Series 2000 and 4000 engines in its Majesty Yachts as its primary engine option. The agreement was signed by Gulf Craft and Al Masaood, a Tognum Group distributor for MTU engines in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show. The contract will extend through 2014 and provides more than 50 engines ranging from 8, 10, 12 and 16-cylinder units of Series 2000 to 12-cylinder engines of Series 4000. “This preferred partner agreement will allow us to strengthen our long-standing partnership and significantly expand our market share,” said Tognum Chief Sales Officer Dr. Michael Haidinger.
