Choi Lee Delivers OSV

OSV Almojil 60 is the first delivery in a pair of sisterships for the Mohammad Al Mojil Group in Saudi Arabia to a design by Wartsilla Ship Design Singapore Pte. Ltd. Construction is to ABS class, with the notation +A1 circle E, +AMS Offshore Support Vessel. Propulsion power comes from a pair of Caterpillar 3512C diesels, each developing 1575hp at 1800rpm, turning 2m diameter fixed pitch four bladed propellers to provide a top speed of 12 knots. Two Caterpillar C6.6 generating sets each developing 170kW provide electric power for onboard systems.

Offshore Vessels Enhance Saudi's MMG Capability

Mohammad Al-Mojil Group (MMG) have announced the delivery of three state-of-the-art vessels for its fleet in the Marine Services Department, according to a Saudi Gazette news item. Of the three vessels, two have a length of 54 meters. The third one is a crew vessel which has operational capabilities and a capacity for up to 70 passengers. All the three vessels are now operational and provide marine support services to Saudi Aramco’s floating oil and gas platforms under the five-year contract MMG  signed with the oil company in December 2011. GMMOS Group Rebrands as Stanford Marine Group

UAE-based GMMOS Group has rebranded to Stanford Marine Group (SMG), according to a report on TradeArabia News Service. The group has two main divisions focused on the marine sector: Stanford Marine (OSV chartering) and Grandweld (shipbuilding and repair). Stanford Marine has recently taken delivery of several new OSVs, such as the three ultra-modern 58-metre DP1 platform supply vessels (PSVs) Condor, Osprey and Caracara - which are already chartered – and will be welcoming in its fleet further four new vessels this year, amongst which will be two 87-metre diesel electric DP2 PSVs with methanol carrying capacity.
