Aker, Fjords Join Forces

Aker Solutions and Fjords Processing have formed an alliance to develop technology and capabilities for advanced, cost-effective wellstream separation and treatment solutions for the subsea and topside oil and gas industry. The WellSep alliance will apply Aker Solutions' subsea processing experience and testing facilities and Fjords' topside and onshore separation technologies to provide complete solutions. "This is a great opportunity to further develop our key technologies with one of our most important partners, Aker Solutions," said Rune Fantoft, chief executive officer of Fjords Processing. "The alliance will further strengthen our wellstream separation technology portfolio, testing and in-house capabilities," said Alan Brunnen, head of subsea at Aker Solutions.

Aker Solutions Contracted for UK Subsea Field Redevelopment

Aker Solutions secures a NOK 650 million (GBP 70 million) contract with BP to help redevelop one of the largest oil fields in the UK sector. The Aberdeen operation of Aker Solutions will manufacture and supply all subsea controls equipment for the Quad 204 project, the redevelopment of the Schiehallion and Loyal fields located approximately 100 miles west of the Shetland Islands. The scope of work includes subsea controls equipment for subsea trees, manifolds and subsea safety isolation valves as well as controls distribution assemblies.

Subsea Tie-in Connectors: Aker to Deliver for Ichtys LNG Project

Aker Solutions contracted by a subsidiary of McDermott for the delivery of subsea tie-in connectors to the Australian Ichthys LNG Project. The scope of work in the contract, valued at NOK 500-million, includes the delivery of 6"-18" horizontal and vertical diverless tie-in connectors to be included in the McDermott umbilicals, risers and flowline scope for the Ichthys LNG Project. Engineering, procurement, construction and installation specialist, McDermott, is the lead contractor for the Ichthys LNG SURF field development project.

Aker Solutions Awarded Troll extension

International oil service group Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract by Statoil to deliver three subsea trees, tubing hangers and a tool package to the Troll field on the Norwegian continental shelf. Estimated contract value is NOK 250 million. The extension is a call-off from a contract signed with Statoil in February 2012. The spare tubing hangers will be utilized on several parts of the Troll field. The Troll field is the world's biggest subsea development with regards to the number of subsea wells. Last year, Aker Solutions reached a major milestone in delivering the 100th subsea tree to the Troll field. The Troll contract awards and deliveries have helped shape and develop Aker Solutions' subsea business.

Aker Solutions Boosting Subsea Capacity

International oil service group Aker Solutions is preparing for major growth by investing NOK 500 million (USD 87 million) in its subsea business. This investment is set to double the capacity of its manufacturing plants in Tranby, Norway, and Port Klang, Malaysia. In addition, a new service base will also be established in Malaysia. The subsea segment of the oil and gas industry is growing rapidly and is expected to develop exponentially over the next few years. Aker Solutions Awarded Subsea Contract

Aker Solutions has been awarded a contract by A/S Norske Shell, to deliver subsea connection systems for the Draugen field on the Norwegian continental shelf. The scope of work includes the delivery of complete tie-in connection systems for production flow lines and umbilicals for the expansion of the Draugen field. "Aker Solutions has supplied connection systems for the subsea installations on the Draugen field since 2002. We are pleased that we can continue to assist A/S Norske Shell to expand the field and increase the production with our solutions," said Alan Brunnen, executive vice president of Aker Solutions' subsea business area. Management, engineering and procurement of the connection systems will be performed at Aker Solutions' head office in Fornebu, Norway.

Subsea Production Award to Aker Solutions

Aker Solutions has been awarded a job by Statoil for the engineering, procurement and construction of a subsea production system for the Svalin project on the Norwegian continental shelf. The contract value is approximately NOK 400 million. Scope of work includes two subsea trees, one four-slot integrated template structure with process distribution manifold, subsea and topside production control systems, wellhead systems and remote connection systems.
