Maktec Signs On Round-the-world Record Attempt
Team Britannia, the organization behind the latest attempt to set the world-record for sailing around the world in the fastest time, has appointed Yorkshire-based Maktec Marine to provide technical support for its engine fuel and oil performance. Maktec Marine founder Mark Cornforth said the challenge is to beat the current world-record holder New Zealander Pete Bethuneâs time of 60 days 23 hours 49 minutes for the 23,000 mile voyage. Team Britannia, GAC Inks Partnership Deal
As Team Britannia prepares for its bid to break the round-the-world powerboat record later this year, GAC has been named their official shipping and logistics partner. GAC will draw on the local contacts and expertise of its network of global offices and partners to provide the 80ft powerboat and its 12 strong crew with all the food, fuel and stores needed to complete the 23,000 mile voyage.
