Valmet, Seastema Ink VAR Agreement

Valmet and Seastema have entered a value-added reseller (VAR) agreement for marine automation to strengthen their foothold on the marine industry market. By joining forces both companies will be able to make their automation solutions better known and more attractive in this industry sector.“We have seen the expertise that Valmet has in automation systems for the marine industry. Kalaat Beni-Abbes Delivered at Muggiano Shipyard

The delivery ceremony of new amphibious vessel for the Algerian Navy  was held today at the Muggiano shipyard (in La Spezia). The "Kalaat Beni-Abbes" (from the name of a place in the north of the country, which in Arabic means fort of the sons of Abbes), a vessel commissioned in 2011 by the Ministry of Defence of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria from Orizzonte Sistemi Navali, a company controlled by Fincantieri in which Selex ES also holds an interest, will serve as the national Navy's new flagship. Italian Shipyared Gains RINA Certification

RINA-Fincantieri ISO 14001 Presentation

Fincantieri's Muggiano shipyard awarded RINA "Environmental Protection" certification under ISO 14001. The yard in Riva Trigoso (Genoa), which together with Muggiano forms Fincantieri's specialist naval shipbuilding centre, is expected to be certified within the next month. In order to qualify for ISO 14001 certification, applicants must, amongst other things,  draw up programs to improve their systems that manage environmental aspects and the related impacts, and they must introduce internal guidelines and controls to regulate and monitor activities from an environmental perspective.
