Gazprom Not Considering Gas Pipe to Japan

Russian gas producer Gazprom is not considering building a gas pipeline to Japan because of ecological reasons, the firm's deputy CEO, Alexander Medvedev, said on Tuesday.   Medvedev said Japan was a target market for liquefied natural gas (LNG).     (Reporting and writing by Katya Golubkova, editing by Elizabeth Piper)

Gazprom Expects Gas Exports to Rise in 2015

Russian top natural gas producer expects its gas exports to the European Union and Turkey to increase to 152-153 billion cubic metres this year, Gazprom's deputy head Alexander Medvedev said on Wednesday.   In 2014, the exports stood at 147 bcm.   Medvedev also said that gas exports to Ukraine will not exceed last-year level of around 15 bcm, which would not be enough to provide for a steady Russian gas exports to Europe in winter.     (Reporting by Vladimir Soldatkin; Editing by Lidia Kelly)

Gazprom holds First Investor Day in Asia

Gazprom held the 10th annual Investor Day for the first time in the Asia-Pacific Region – in Hong Kong (February 3) and Singapore (February 5). Taking part in the events were Andrey Kruglov and Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairmen of the Gazprom Management Committee; Dmitry Lyugai and Vsevolod Cherepanov, Members of the Gazprom Management Committee as well as heads of the Company’s specialized structural units and subsidiaries. The events were met with great interest by the investment community. In Hong Kong the Investor Day was attended by over 110 portfolio managers and analysts from major international investment funds and credit institutions. In Singapore it attracted more than 120 visitors.

Gazprom, OMV Ink Additional Deal

Vienna hosted today the signing of an Addendum to the existing contract for gas supply to Austria between Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Gerhard Roiss, Chief Executive Officer of OMV. The document is to adjust the contract terms and conditions to the changing market environment and make Russian gas more competitive in the Austrian market.

St. Petersburg Becoming Int'l Gas Sales Hub

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, inaugurated today a new office building of Gazprom Export in St. Petersburg. Taking part in the ceremony were Mikhail Mokretsov, Vice-Governor of the city of St. Petersburg, Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Elena Burmistrova, CEO of Gazprom Export, and city authorities. The new HQ is located in the city center, the Ostrovskogo Square, and occupies the reconstructed premises built in 2006. Gazprom, Sovcomflot Expand LNG Transport Cooperation

Gazprom and Sovcomflot named the new state-of-the-art 170,000m³ liquefied natural gas carrier (LNGC) Pskov, after one of the oldest Russian cities. The ship will be chartered to Gazprom Global LNG (GGLNG) under a long-term contract. The LNGC Pskov is the second vessel in a series of high-specification, ice class Atlanticmax LNG carriers that have been specially designed in accordance with Gazprom’s requirements, and will support Gazprom’s global commercial operations in the gas markets. The first LNGC, Velikiy Novgorod, was delivered and entered service in January of this year. The naming ceremony took place at the STX shipyard, South Korea.

Gazprom Tightening Links with Bosnia & Herzegovina

Led by Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee the Company's delegation paid a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina today. As part of the visit, meetings were held with the Government officials, namely Bakir Izetbegovic, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zeljko Komsic, Member of the Presidency, Vjekoslav Bevanda, Chairman of the Council of Ministers, and Zlatko Lagumdzija, Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers – Minister of Foreign Affairs. Alexander Medvedev also held talks with Boris Tucic, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Co-President of the Russian-Bosnian Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Gazprom to Extend Gas Supplies from Kazakhstan

Astana hosted today a working meeting between Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Uzakbai Karabalin, Minister of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The parties discussed further cooperation in the gas sector and, in particular, the extension of the long-term agreement till 2038 – on purchase and sale of gas produced from the Karachaganakskoye gas and condensate field. A focus was also placed on the prospects for the joint development of the Imashevskoye gas and condensate field. In addition, the parties looked into the possible development of Russian and Kazakh gas transmission networks.

New Director-General Appointed at Gazprom Export

Gazprom informs that due to a considerable increase in the day-to-day business and its geographical expansion, as well as product diversification within the Company’s international activities, Elena Burmistrova has been appointed Director-General of the Russian energy major's Gazprom Export subsidiary. Gazprom explains that Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee will supervise the international business sector as well as social development and sports programs. “Gazprom’s geographical expansion and far-reaching plans in the foreign markets require new structural and functional decision-making,” said Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee. Huge New Northern Sea Route LNG Carrier Named

The new Russian-flag liquefied natural gas (LNG ) carrier was named 'Velikiy Novgorod' at the STX O&S shipyard in the city of Jinhae (South Korea) and becomes the fifth in Gazprom's tanker fleet. Gazprom explain that the Velikiy Novgorod is a gas carrier with membrane cargo tanks and a cargo capacity of 170.2 thousand cubic meters. It has dual-fuel diesel-electric propulsion, which can be powered by LNG, fuel oil or gasoil. The Russian-manned ship is classified according to the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and Lloyd's Register.
