Bergink takes over as Framo CEO

Sameer Kalra has passed the helm of pumping system manufacturer Framo over to new CEO Martijn Bergink.Bergink will be based in Bergen, Norway. Formerly President of Business Unit Boiler and Gas System at Alfa Laval, he has held various positions within Alfa Laval since 1998. Educated as a chemical engineer, Bergink holds an McS degree in Chemistry.Kalra, the former Framo CEO moves across to parent company Alfa Laval as the new head of the Alfa Laval Marine Division and a member of the Alfa Laval Group Management.

Martijn Bergink has taken over as CEO of pumping systems manufacturer Framo.Former Framo CEO Sameer Kalra has officially handed Bergink responsibility for the business as Kalra becomes the new head of the Alfa Laval Marine Division and a member of the Alfa Laval Group management.As CEO of Framo and President of Business Unit Pumping Systems, Bergink will be based out of Bergen. He is educated chemical engineer and holds an McS degree in Chemistry. He began working for Alfa Laval in the Netherlands in 1998 and most recently held the position of President of Business Unit Boiler and Gas Systems.

Alfa Laval Wins North Sea Oil Platform Equipment Contract

Providers of heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling systems, Alfa Laval says it has won an order to supply equipment to an offshore oil platform in the North Sea. The order has a value of approximately SEK 50 million and delivery is scheduled for 2014. The equipment supplied by Alfa Laval will be part of the important auxiliary system on the platform. “This is the third large oil and gas order within a month, reflecting the good activity level in the sector. It confirms our strong position as a reliable supplier,” says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group.

Alfa Laval Wins 5-Ship EGCS Order

Alfa Laval has won an order to supply its PureSOx exhaust gas cleaning systems (EGCS) to 5 ships in the fleet of the Dutch ship owner Spliethoff. Delivery is scheduled for 2014. The manufacturer's say that  they delivered their first PureSOX exhaust gas cleaning system to Spliethoff in 2012. Alfa Laval Win Big Cruise Ship Order

Alfa Laval to supply PureSOx exhaust gas cleaning systems for two cruise ships to MAN in a SEK 55 million contract. The Alfa Laval PureSOx exhaust gas cleaning systems will be installed onboard two luxury cruise liners, where they will remove over 98 percent of the sulphur oxides from the ship’s exhaust gas. Alfa Laval Win Big Korean BWTS Order

Alfa Laval to supply its PureBallast systems to a leading shipyard in South Korea. The order has a value of approximately SEK 50 million, and delivery will start in 2013 and be finalized in 2014. The Alfa Laval PureBallast systems will be installed onboard vessels where they will clean the ballast water down to a limit complying with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) convention and the United States Coast Guard (USCG) legislation, before it is discharged. “This order confirms the growing demand for our PureBallast system for new vessels”, says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. Alfa Laval Water Treatment System Ordered for MAN EGR System

Alfa Laval wins groundbreaking marine environmental order from MAN Diesel & Turbo for its PureNox Water Treatment System. The Alfa Laval PureNOx Water treatment system (WTS) is developed together with MAN Diesel & Turbo to be integrated in their Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) process to reduce the NOx emissions from ship main engines. The Alfa Laval WTS will clean the circulating scrubber water to protect the EGR system, and also clean the excess water formed during combustion before it is discharged overboard. reduce harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission onboard vessels. Alfa Laval Acquires Niche US Company

Alfa Laval is a leading provider of specialized products and engineering solutions based on its key technologies of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling. Vortex Systems had sales of approximately SEK 100 million in 2011 and about 20 employees at its location in Huston, Texas, USA. The intention is to integrate Vortex Systems into Alfa Laval. The company will be consolidated into Alfa Laval from June 30, 2012. With the acquisition of Vortex Systems, Alfa Laval has acquired 32 companies during the last 6 years representing about SEK 8.5 billion in sales at the time of the acquisition.

Alfa Laval Acquires Aalborg Industries

Alfa Laval – a leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling –signed an agreement to acquire Aalborg Industries Holding A/S for a total cash consideration of $729.6m, on an enterprise value basis, from Altor 2003 Fund, LD Equity and the Company’s management. Aalborg Industries has some 2,600 employees and is expected to generate sales of about $481.5m in 2010. The acquisition will be accretive to EPS from 2011. The closing of the transaction is subject to clearance from regulatory authorities. Headquartered in Aalborg, Denmark, the company is a provider of products, systems and service solutions, today mainly to the marine and off-hore markets, but it also has an increasing exposure to the power industry as well as to other industrial end markets.

Korean Shipyard Orders Alfa Laval PureBallast

Alfa Laval, a heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling, has received two orders of record size for Alfa Laval PureBallast systems from two leading ship yards in Korea. The systems will be installed on board 14 vessels built for A.P Møller – Maersk. The total order value is about 80 MSEK and the delivery is scheduled for 2011 and 2012. “These are groundbreaking orders in many ways,” said Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. “They include the 100th system sold, and are of record size, both in terms of value as in number of systems – on top of that it also involves some of the major players in the marine industry.

Alfa Laval Enters Agreement with European Shipyards

The supplier frame agreement is made between Alfa Laval and Euroship, a group of European shipyards made up of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, Alstom Marine of France, Fincantieri S. p. A. of Italy, Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft and Jos. L. Meyer Werft of Germany and Izar Construcciones Navales S. A. of Spain. The frame agreement covers supplies of fuel oil and lube oil separator modules for the new constructions built at the Euroship yards. The aim is to co-ordinate standards between Alfa Laval and Euroship so that supplies can be specified and shipped according to agreed standards, thereby improving delivery times and lowering costs for all parties involved.
