GasLog Partners Signs Multiple New Charter Agreements

GasLog Partners has announced  that it has entered into agreements with a new customer for two new charters plus options for an additional two charters. The agreements include an approximately three and a half year charter for GasLog Santiago commencing in the third quarter of 2018 and a one year charter for a GasLog Partners 145,000 cubic meter (cbm) steam vessel (either Methane Jane Elizabeth or Methane Alison Victoria as nominated by the Partnership) commencing in the fourth quarter of 2019. The charterer has options to extend the GasLog Santiago charter for up to an additional seven years and the steam vessel charter for up to an additional four years, both at escalating rates.

As Local Demand Slows, Argentina Reworks LNG Import Deals

Argentina is diverting or cancelling incoming shipments of liquefied natural gas (LNG) after mild late winter temperatures curbed fuel demand and forced state-run buyer Enarsa to rework some deals. South America's biggest LNG importer had launched back-to-back tenders in June and July after a cold start to winter, lining up dozens of cargoes at bargain prices as global output outpaced demand. But a milder streak in August undercut demand for heating fuel and left Enarsa juggling a supply overhang, the company and trading sources said. Enarsa said it had cancelled one shipment and delayed three cargoes until next year because of one of the warmest Augusts in a decade.

Argentina Reworks LNG Import Deals

Argentina is diverting or cancelling incoming shipments of liquefied natural gas (LNG) after mild late winter temperatures curbed fuel demand and forced state-run buyer Enarsa to rework some deals. South America's biggest LNG importer launched back-to-back tenders in June and July after a cold start to winter, lining up dozens of cargoes at bargain prices as global output continued to outpace demand. But a milder streak in August has undercut demand for heating fuel and left state-run LNG importer Enarsa juggling a supply overhang, according to trading sources. Enarsa and Argentina's energy ministry declined to comment. Stubbornly high stock levels at Argentina's two import terminals, Bahia Blanca and Escobar, also mean there are physical restrictions on any further imports.

GasLog Partners To Buy Three Vessels

GasLog Partners LP and GasLog Ltd. announced today the closing of the Partnership’s acquisition from GasLog of 100% of the ownership interests in the entities that own and charter the liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) carriers the Methane Alison Victoria, the Methane Shirley Elisabeth and the Methane Heather Sally. GasLog’s fully-owned fleet consists of 19 LNG carriers (including 11 ships in operation and 8 LNG carriers on order), and GasLog has four LNG carriers operating under its technical management for third parties.GasLog Partners LP’s fleet consists of eight LNG carriers with an average carrying capacity of 148,750 cbm, each of which has a multi-year time charter.

GasLog Partners in $ 483 mi Acquisition Deal

GasLog Partners LP and GasLog Ltd. announced today that they have entered into an agreement for the Partnership to purchase from GasLog, the sole member of the Partnership’s general partner, 100% of the shares in the entities that own and charter the Methane Alison Victoria, Methane Shirley Elisabeth and Methane Heather Sally, for an aggregate purchase price of $483 million (the “Acquisition”), which includes $3 million for positive net working capital balances to be transferred with the vessels. The three vessels subject to the Acquisition are modern liquefied natural gas carriers built in 2007, each with a capacity of 145,000 cubic meters.

GasLog Completes Acquisition of 3 LNG Carriers from BG Group

GasLog Ltd. announced that it successfully completed the acquisition of three LNG carriers from an affiliate of BG Group plc (“BG”), which was previously announced on April 10, 2014. This completes the second acquisition of ships from BG by GasLog in 2014. The acquisition of the first three vessels was announced in January and completed in April. The three ships subject to today’s announcement will be chartered back to BG for six-year initial terms on average. The time charters for the three vessels are staggered with one for 5.5 years, one for 6 years and one for 6.5 years, so that the three vessels will not redeliver at the same time. BG has options to extend the term of the time charters for two of the ships for a period of either three or five years at its election.
