Auramarine Hires Räty as Engineering Director

ALMACO Helps Refurb Crystal Serenity

ALMACO Group recently delievered 36 new luxurious Seabreeze Penthouses and two new spacious Seabreeze Penthouse Suites to Crystal Cruises’ ocean-going vessel Crystal Serenity. ALMACO to Deliver Catering Areas for Saga Cruise Ship

ALMACO said it has been contracted to build the catering areas onboard the first newbuild ship for Saga Cruises at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. The vessel is expected to be delivered in summer of 2019, with the option to order a second with expected delivery in 2021. ALMACO to Deliver Provision Stores for AIDA Newbuilds

German shipyard Meyer Werft has awarded ALMACO Group the newbuilding contract for provision stores and fast thawing chambers for the next ship generation of AIDA Cruises, which are expected to be delivered end of 2018 and 2021. ALMACO’s scope of work involves a total of 2,600 square meters of provision stores, as well as nine fast thawing chambers (FTC). The FTC is an ALMACO-engineered system that supports a much faster thawing period on less thawing surface, providing a thawing capacity of 750 kg for each room for 12 hours, therefore allowing for 6,750 kg in thawing capacity per 24 hours. ALMACO has delivered FTCs in previous AIDA Cruises newbuilds, AIDAprima and AIDAperla.

ALMACO to Deliver Project Resolve Superstructure

Canadian shipbuilder and industrial fabricator Davie Shipbuilding has awarded ALMACO Group the contract for the delivery of the superstructure of Project Resolve, a Navy AOR vessel, the first project carried out as part of ALMACO and Davie’s cooperation and technology transfer. ALMACO to Build Cabins, Galleys for Rhine Class Ships

German shipyard MV WERFTEN has awarded ALMACO Group a contract to build the luxury suites and galley areas for Crystal River Cruises’ four Rhine Class luxury river yachts, which will be delivered in 2017 and 2018 from Wismar. The scope of work involves a total of 220 luxury suites and corresponding corridors as well as the visual turnkey delivery of the main galley and pantries, including galley equipment and lining for all four river ships. ALMACO To Redesign Crew Area on Crystal Mozart

Launching Crystal River Cruises fleet, Crystal Mozart, the Queen of Europe’s Rivers, will boast a full redesign that features a refurbishment of crew cabins and crew areas by ALMACO Group. ALMACO’s turnkey delivery will include the modernization of 50 crew cabins and crew areas such as the gym, mess, recreation areas as well as store rooms. The project awarded in early February is being carried out in Austria, where Crystal Mozart will sail on her maiden voyage round-trip from Vienna, July 13, 2016.

New Crew Cabins for Celebrity Summit

Celebrity Cruises has awarded ALMACO Group the contract to build 16 new crew cabins onboard Celebrity Summit during a short March drydock at Grand Bahamas Shipyard (GBS) and continuing during sailing. ALMACO’s scope of work includes demolition, complete outfitting of the GBS-provided new steel block, and delivery of 16 new crew cabins on Deck 5. The drydock period began at GBS from February 29 and is expected to conclude March 12, 2016. The works will then be finalized during the first sailing cruise that follows the drydock.

ALMACO Wins Statoil Order for 450 Cabins

ALMACO Group was awarded the contract to build 450 NORSOK-compliant Modular Cabins for Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup fixed platform at Apply Leirvik’s yard in Stord, Norway. ALMACO’s delivery will consist of modular cabin deliveries to Apply and Kvaener in Stord, and to Emtunga in Sweden, prior the Living Quarter blocks being transported to Kvaerner for integration. ALMACO’s scope of work for this project includes the supply of 450 NORSOK-compliant modular cabins to be incorporated into the Living Quarter being built at Apply Leirvik’s yard. The modular cabins will be built at ALMACO’s facilities in Finland and will be delivered in separate batches to Apply Emtunga in Sweden, to Apply Leirvik in Stord, Norway, and to Kvaerner also in Stord, Norway.

ALMACO's Catering Solutions on Norwegian Escape

ALMACO Group has delivered the first of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway-Plus class ships, Norwegian Escape. The largest in Norwegian’s fleet, the ship was built at Meyer Werft and delivered on October 22, 2015. Builder KHI Contracts ALMACO for Drillships Work

ALMACO Group informs it has been awarded the design, material supply and supervision contract from Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. In March 2014, KHI contracted ALMACO Group to deliver the design, material supply and supervision for the catering areas, inclusive galley, provision stores, refrigeration machinery and mess rooms, located on the hull of the first drillship, Ondina. The expected delivery date for this work is end of 2015. Earlier this year, ALMACO received the repeat order for the second drill unit, Pituba, with the expected delivery of mid of 2016. Kawasaki’s Sakaide Shipyard is building the hull parts of these units, which will later be transported to Enseada’s site in Brazil for installation of other segments, such as the topside equipment.

HHI Orders Refrigeration, Cold Stores for FPSO

Goliat, the first cylindrical floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel on the Norwegian Continental Shelf built for Eni Norge and partner Statoil at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), will feature ALMACO’s cold stores and refrigeration machinery. Hyundai Heavy Industries awarded the contract to ALMACO Group in July of 2011, and ALMACO finalized the commissioning work at the end of 2014. ALMACO said its scope of supply includes the supply and installation of cold stores and refrigeration machinery, as well as commissioning and spare parts.

ALMACO Group Earns ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 Certifications

ALMACO Group has received multi-site certifications for ISO 14001:2004, for implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and OHSAS 18001:2007, for developing Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management systems, in compliance with the international standards. The certifications cover ALMACO’s products and services comprising engineering, procurement, construction, total project management, maintenance and on site installations for accommodation and food handling areas in living quarters, offshore installations and floating accommodation units.

Allure of the Seas Delivered

On October 28, 2010, Turku Shipyard delivered the Allure of the Seas to Royal Caribbean International. The Allure of the Seas and its sistership Oasis of the Seas are the culmination of more than 40 years of product development cooperation between the cruise line, the shipyard and the maritime cluster. The 225,000-ton Oasis class vessels are 361m in length. The Allure of the Seas can accommodate 6,360 passengers at maximum. Almaco Modernizes M/S Kristina Katarina

Almaco Group has been awarded by Kristina Cruises the contract to modernize passenger cabins and public areas on the owner's new flagship M/S Kristina Katarina. The work will be done in Kotka, Finland, and will be completed by the end of July 2010. Almaco's Accommodation Systems division will refurbish all 195 passenger cabins and the corresponding bathrooms. The scope of work also includes the modernization of cabin corridors and passenger staircases, the renovation of the conference room and children's play area as well as modernization and modifications done in the buffet and a la carte restaurants. The new flagship of Kristina Cruises, M/S Kristina Katarina, will start sailing under the Finnish flag in August 2010.

Bibby Renaissance Delivered

ALMACO delivered the 336-cabin accommodation vessel Bibby Renaissance to Bibby Maritime Ltd. ALMACO Group provided a total turnkey package to Bibby Renaissance which incorporated structural construction as well as the total outfitting of the vessel with accommodations, food handling, and additional Systems. The project involved widening the vessel, originally an empty steel pontoon, by approximately 18 ft. The existing top-side accommodation structure was split longitudinally in half, leaving the port-side part of the structure in its existing place.
