McDermott: Rig Repair Contracts at Altamira Facility in Mexico

McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE: MDR) said that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded contracts to refurbish and undertake rig repair work at the McDermott Altamira fabrication facility in Tamaulipas, Mexico. The two jack-up rigs are the Friede & Goldman L-780 Mod II design and will undergo significant improvement work to re-instate them to ABS classification. This will include steel hull, piping, machinery, and electrical renewal, as well as blasting, painting and commissioning support. Work is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2012. McDermott’s Altamira fabrication facility has an expansive 1,640-ft. quayside, water depth of 41 ft. and less than three nautical miles tow distance to the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

J. Ray McDermott Contract for Wellhead Platform

Houston-based J. Ray McDermott (J. Ray), a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc., announced the award of a contract by PEMEX Exploración y Producción for completion engineering, procurement, construction, load-out and sea fastening of the Kuil-A wellhead platform. The platform is located in the Kuil field in the Bay of Campeche, within the PEMEX Southwest Marine Region. “This new construction contract with PEMEX reinforces J. Ray's strength in the conventional shallow water platform sector of the offshore oil and gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico," said Steve Johnson, J. Ray’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We have performed previous work for PEMEX from our Altamira facility since it opened for business in 2008.
