DMCA Briefs ‘Sea Dubai’ Initiative

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) praised the ‘Sea Dubai’ initiative launched by the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA). He described the initiative as instrumental to leveraging the cooperation between key stakeholders in the maritime business in public and private sectors towards boosting the competitiveness of Dubai as a prominent global maritime leisure destination. DMCA Training for Marine Drivers

The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has revealed the growing demand for marine driving licenses in the Emirate of Dubai as reflected by the high volume of applications for marine crews operating within local waters. In response, the DMCA’s Maritime Traffic Management team ensures the Skippers’ Evaluation course being provided to Skippers with a one-hour briefing class on ‘Marine Knowledge for Boat Operation’ with a focus on deepening and enriching modern marine knowledge in managing operational processes before undergoing formal inspection. This is a step forward in integrating maritime safety, operational efficiency and safe navigation along the local coastlines to position Dubai at the forefront of the world's most advanced, competitive and attractive maritime and logistics hubs.

DMCA Visits Seacor Marine

Dubai Maritime City Authority visits Seacor Marine, a major operator of offshore marine support vessels, to further reinforce local maritime sector in partnership with private sector. Led by Amer Ali, Executive Director of DMCA, and Nawfal Al Jourani, Chief Officer of the Dubai Maritime Cluster Office, the DMCA’s delegation discussed best solutions and efficient measures to further capitalize on promising opportunities and address current and emerging challenges facing Dubai’s maritime community. Clarksons Platou's Inaugural Seminar at DMCA’s Dubai Maritime Week

The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) is set to facilitate a first-of-its-kind seminar dedicated to Middle East shipping and offshore activities. The event will be conducted by Clarksons Platou, a global leader in maritime brokerage and investment banking, as part of Dubai Maritime Week 2016 – the third edition of the region’s first comprehensive maritime event organized by the Authority, which will run from October 30 to November 3. The seminar is expected to attract several prominent regional and international industry figures and further reinforce Dubai’s growing popularity as a hub for major maritime events. The Marine Advisory Council has met to discuss the best ways to continue leading the march to excellence pursued by the Dubai Maritime Authority in upgrading the components of Dubai’s maritime sector. The council during the meeting, its fourth since its establishment in2014, examined the need to modernise infrastructure, developed legislative, legal and logistics aspects, and further diversify investment opportunities to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of the local maritime community.

DMCA Showcases Local Maritime Leadership

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) showcased Dubai's global maritime leadership in the presence of a high-level delegation from City of Glasgow College who commended the manner in which the outstanding experiences of the UAE maritime sector has transformed it into an internationally renowned maritime community. This was done during a visit by an academic delegation from the UK College to the DMCA head office in Dubai to promote collaboration in the vital fields of maritime training, research and studies. DMCA's Pact with TRAKHEES

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority charged with regulating, coordinating and supervising all aspects of Dubai’s maritime sector, has signed a strategic service-level agreement (SLA) with Trakhees, a regulatory arm of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone in Dubai, UAE, for sustainable development of the maritime city. Under the terms of the agreement, Trakhees will process all types of permits and approvals along with ancillary activities for all civil engineering and environment, health and safety activities (non-maritime) carried out by third parties within Dubai Maritime City’s geographical area, said Amer Ali, the executive director of DMCA, after signing the deal with Arif Obaid Al Dehail, the CEO of Trakhees.

DMCC, DMCA to Promote Dubai’s Maritime Sector

DMCC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (‘MoU’) with the Dubai Maritime City Authority to help promote Dubai to the maritime sector as a global destination for companies wanting to set up and expand into the GCC and MENA region. The MoU provides a collaborative framework for DMCC Free Zone and Dubai Maritime City Authority to work toward this goal, and will also jointly explore the development and implementation of m-Government initiatives relevant to the maritime sector in Dubai in accordance with the Dubai Smart Government initiative. In their first official collaboration following the MoU signing ceremony, DMCC will join DMCA at their stand at the Nor-shipping Trade Fair from June 2 to June 5 in Oslo, Norway to jointly promote Dubai as a business hub for the MENA region.

DMCA Commends Marine Driver’s License Recipients
