Seven Vessels Added to CTM's RSA

Hyundai Vinashin Launches d'Amico LR1

d’Amico International Shipping (DIS) has launched the first three LR1 (long-range) vessels in its history, at the Hyundai Vinashin shipyard in Vietnam, ANSA reported. The company invested USD 131 million in the construction of the three 75,000-tonne ships. These vessels are ecologically friendly, can transport more cargo per voyage and are able to cross the expanded Panama Canal, DIS said. The Italian engineers of the D'Amico group have collaborated with the South Korean-Vietnamese shipyards to design a new generation of eco-ships, 228m long and 36m wide, able to transport bigger volumes, limiting consumption and CO2 emissions and maintaining a draught similar to smaller ships to exploit the new routes created by the widening of the Panama Canal.

d’Amico's Entire Fleet is MRV Compliant

RINA Services has verified that the entire fleet of the d’Amico Group has met the Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of CO2 emissions Regulation (MRV) requirements according to EU 2015/757 Regulation. The fleet comprises 36 vessels which are managed by d’Amico Società di Navigazione and 35 vessels managed by its subsidiary Ishima Pte. Ltd. This new regulation was developed in response to the challenge of reducing greenhouse gases in European territories to the 2050 targets set by EU. By 2030 GHG must be reduced at least by 40 percent below 1990 levels.

d’Amico Chooses Sealink Premium Plus VSAT

Italian ship owner and long-term Telemar customer d’Amico Group has selected Marlink’s Sealink Premium Plus VSAT service to enhance connectivity across its fleet of over 50 product tankers and dry cargo vessels. Sealink Premium Plus provides global connectivity for d’Amico’s business and vessel operations, in addition to supporting crew welfare. With Sealink Premium Plus, the d’Amico fleet will receive a guaranteed Committed Information Rate (CIR) and completely unlimited Ku-band VSAT data in parallel to unlimited L-band back-up, for a single, fixed monthly fee.

First Supramax Vessel for Japan-Italy Venture

'DACC Tirreno' was delivered at the Oshima shipyard in Japan yesterday, the first of four Supramax bulk carriers for the dACC Maritime Limited fleet, the joint venture established by the Coeclerici and d’Amico Groups. The 60,000dwt vessel, measuring 200m long and 60m wide, is powered by a MAN B&W ME engine and has a cruising speed of 14.5 knots. Daily fuel consumption of 25 tonnes represents a saving of around 6/7 tonnes of fuel compared to similar vessels in the class, the company said. A statement from the company said that the new ship meets “the highest requirements in terms of safety, environmental protection, quality and efficiency”.

d'Amico Fleet to Fit InfoSHIP EGO Monitoring

International classification society RINA Services informs it is to fit RINA’s InfoSHIP EGO performance monitoring system to d’Amico Group’s entire fleet. The first units will be installed on two newbuildings under construction in Korea and China, one tanker and one bulk carrier. The system will be progressively extended across the d’Amico fleet. InfoSHIP EGO is the fleet performance monitoring solution developed by RINA Services in cooperation with IB Software and Consulting. The software has different modules that allow it to automatically collect data on board and benchmark the actual performance of the ship against a target. Michele Francioni, CEO, RINA Services, says, “InfoSHIP EGO will be customized for the d’Amico fleet to meet the company’s specific reporting needs.

China, Vietnam, Shipyards Deliver Newbuilds to VSL

Investors in the shipping & logistics industries VSL, says that in just over a week its first two eco-newbuildings joined its fleet, with the delivery from Vietnam of the 'High Sun' product tanker (in partnership with d’Amico International Shipping – DIS) and the 'Giulia I' dry-bulk carrier from China. VSL Invests in Eco-Ships

DIS Orders Two Newbuild Eco-Tankers

d’Amico International Shipping (DIS), an international marine transportation company operating in the product tanker market, announces that its operating subsidiary d’Amico Tankers Limited (Ireland) entered in a contract for the construction of two additional new “Eco” tanker vessels (50.000 dwt Handysize) for a consideration of $36.6 million each. These “ECO Design” tankers, a cutting-edge technology in the shipping sector, will allow to generate fuel savings of 6/7 tons per day compared to the older design ones therefore reducing emissions.
