Grandweld Delivers Vessel to ADNOC

United Arab Emirates leading shipyard Grandweld has delivered a dive maintenance and support vessel TAWAM1 to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). Grandweld took the newbuild project from conception to completion, designing and building the 50-meter long vessel with a 65-ton bollard pull capability, after signing a contract in December 2013 with -ADNOC. TAWAM1 will be operated by ADNOC’s group company, Abu Dhabi Petroleum Ports Operating Company (IRSHAD). Among its specifications, TAWAM1 is equipped with anchor handling equipment and an offshore lifting crane with a capacity of 35 ton at 7.5-meter reach. This will be utilized to maneuver heavy lift items such as gravity anchors, mooring buoys and SBM hoses.

Keppel Singmarine in Singapore contracted to design & construct a multi-purpose Diving Support & Construction Vessel (DSCV) for delivery Q2 2013. The new DSCV (Diving Support & Construction Vessel) will be a MT-6024 design from Marin Teknikk in Norway, built to DNV rules and international regulations. The vessel will have a class III DP system and be equipped with a fully integrated 12-man saturation diving system capable of operating in up to 300-metres of water. GPA Completes 254L AHTS Series Delivery with 54th Hull

Earlier this year, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering firm Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA) completed a major milestone with the delivery of the final of 54 GPA 254L AHTS vessels, also known as the Bourbon Liberty 200 series, at Zhejiang Shipyard in China. In 2006, BOURBON Offshore placed an order with GPA for the Basic Design and Contract/Regulatory Package for 26 of these identical vessels. In 2007, the order was expanded by an additional 28 vessels. Rolls-Royce Wins STX OSV Contract

Rolls-Royce has been awarded a £15 million contract by STX OSV to supply an extensive deck equipment package for an advanced anchor handling vessel to be operated by Iceman AS. The package, which is designed to improve operational safety, will include a new anchor handling frame (AHF) and a hydraulic anchor winch, which is capable of pulling 500 tonnes. It will also feature anchor handling cranes and systems to ensure controlled management of wires and chains when pulling heavy loads. Rolls-Royce, has been awarded a £15 million contract by STX OSV to supply an extensive deck equipment package for an advanced anchor handling vessel to be operated by Iceman AS. The package, which is designed to improve operational safety, will include a new anchor handling frame (AHF) and a hydraulic anchor winch, which is capable of pulling 500 tonnes. It will also feature anchor handling cranes and systems to ensure controlled management of wires and chains when pulling heavy loads. As the exploration and production for oil and gas moves towards deeper waters, mooring lines become heavier, more difficult and more hazardous to handle.

Anchor-handling Capabilities Secure New Order For Cargotec

Cargotec has won a contract to supply two sets of MacGregor anchor-handling systems for two anchor-handling tug /supply / oil recovery vessels under construction at a Chinese Shipyard for a Singaporean owner. The anchor-handling equipment is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2011 and it will be manufactured at Cargotec’s facilities for offshore load handling in Singapore and China. •        telescopic deck cranes. The anchor-handling towing winches have a 380 tonnes line pull and a 500 tonnes static brake. The bollard pull of these ABS classed vessels is 150 – 160 tonnes.

New Orders for Cargotec

Following a successful run of deliveries to Bourbon’s Liberty 200 series of AHTS vessels, the offshore services specialist has now placed orders for a further four state-of-the-art MacGregor anchor-handling systems from Cargotec. Cargotec has won a contract to supply four sets of MacGregor anchor-handling systems to a series of anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels on order at Sinopacific Group in China for major offshore oil and gas services company, Bourbon. The AHTS vessels are based on a SPA80 design, which has been jointly developed by Bourbon and its partner Shanghai Design Associates (SDA). The anchor-handling equipments are scheduled for delivery in 2011.

Eastern Shipbuilding Delivers Santa Cruz

RINCON Marine, Inc., has taken delivery of its newest addition, anchor handling tug Santa Cruz. The 190 x 44 x 16 ft. vessel is the first of two vessels of this design being built at Eastern Shipbuilding Group, incorporating the anchor handling equipment necessary for servicing the oil rigs in Santa Barbara Channel. A traditional supply boat layout has been followed, with capacities including 70,000 gal. diesel fuel, 223,395 gal. ballast water, 7,200 cu.ft. dry bulk mud in six 1,200 cu.ft. tanks, 2,016 barrels grade E liquid mud, and 8.650 gal. or potable water. Santa Cruz has a conventional propulsion arrangement. Main engines fitted are Caterpillar Model 3516B rated at 2,200 bhp @ 1,600 rpm, coupled to Reintjes Model WAF872 gearboxes with a ratio of 6.4:1.
