Ince to Seek Sale After Creditor Bows Out

Legal and professional services firm Ince Group Plc plans to enter administration and pursue a sale of the company, it said on April 12, amid cash concerns and repeated delays in reporting its financial results.Ince's directors applied to London's High Court on April 12 to appoint administrators under UK insolvency law in relation to the company and four subsidiaries, court filings show.Trading in Ince on London's Alternative Investment Market was suspended from Jan.

InfraStrata Joins Forces with Navantia

InfraStrata, the parent company of Belfast shipyard Harland and Wolff, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Spanish shipbuilding company Navantia SA.Under the MoU, the companies plan to cooperate on offshore wind projects, among other things.Subject to completion of the acquisition of the assets of Harland & Wolff Heavy Industries Ltd and Harland & Wolff Group PLC by InfraStrata, the memorandum envisages utilizing these assets for the purposes of providing a range of services to Navantia, the company said.These services will include supporting Navalia in its proposed tender for contracts to provide three new Fleet Solid Support ships for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary in the UK.

Tekmar Bags Formosa 1 Phase 2 Gig

UK-based Tekmar Energy has been selected as the cable protection system (CPS) and hang off supplier for the 120-MW Formosa I Phase II offshore wind project in Taiwanese waters.A press note from the company announced that it has received the order from subsea power cable provider JDR Cables, part of TFKable Group.Tekmar will be providing approximately 60 cable protection systems and a further 60 hang off clamps which hold the subsea cable in place within the turbine transition piece.Formosa 1 Phase 2 is a project located 6km from the shore of Taiwan, consisting of 20 turbines and will provide a total of 122 MW in water depth of approximately 15-30m.

Van Oord Contracts Tekmar Borssele 2 Offshore Wind Project

The subsea cables and engineering services provider Tekmar Energy announced that international marine contractor Van Oord has selected the patented Tekmar Cable Protection System (CPS) TekLink Mechanical Latch for the Borssele 2 (site III and IV) offshore wind farm.According to a press release from the offshore wind cable protection systems company, Borssele 2 consisting of 77 turbines and a total of 731.5 MW, will go into construction off the coast of Zeeland, the Netherlands in 2020.James Ritchie, CEO of Tekmar Group plc, said: “We are delighted that Van Oord has chosen Tekmar for Borssele 2. Gordon Dadds Acquires Maritime Law Firm Ince & Co

Gordon Dadds Group plc said it agreed to buy one best known names in maritime law Ince & Co International.The merged firms will become a new global legal business and the largest listed law firm in the UK by revenue.Ince is a network of affiliated international commercial law firms, serving its global client base from offices across Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Shell in Talks to Sell $1.3 Bln of Gulf Coast Assets

Royal Dutch Shell Plc is in talks to sell its assets in a Gulf of Mexico oilfield to Focus Oil to pay for its takeover of BG Group Plc, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with matter.The deal could value Shell's stake in the Caesar Tonga field at about $1.3 billion, the report said.Shell has a 22.5 percent working interest in Caesar Tonga, with the rest owned by companies including Anadarko Petroleum Corp, Equinor ASA and Chevron Corp, Bloomberg said, citing company filings.Shell and Focus Oil did not immediately respond to a request for comment.(Reporting by Sathvik N in B

Irish Ferries Orders New Ship for Dublin-Holyhead Route

Irish Continental Group plc (ICG) said it has ordered a new cruise ferry set to be the world’s largest in terms of vehicle capacity, due for delivery in 2020. The new €165.2 million ($199.4 million) cruise ferry is being built by German shipbuilder Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesselschaft & Co.KG (FSG), specifically for Irish Ferries’ Dublin - Holyhead services. It is expected to replace the schedule of the MV Ulysses, which in turn will replace the chartered-in vessel MV Epsilon. This will allow for the deployment of the W.B. Yeats (arriving mid 2018) full-time on the direct Ireland - France route alongside the MV Oscar Wilde. ICG said the new 67,300 gross ton cruise ferry will increase Irish Ferries’ freight and tourism carrying capacity on the fast-growing Dublin - Holyhead route.

Cammell Laird Employee Celebrates 60 Years in Ship Repair

Jim Clark, a senior manager at Cammell Laird, has clocking 60 years in the ship repair industry, making him one of the U.K.’s longest serving Chief Estimators. The 76-year-old chief estimator has delivering more than 11,000 over the course of his career, having worked with maritime brands from Blue Star Line to his current role at Cammell Laird. Since his first job in 1962 he has delivered estimates for ship repair projects worth circa £100 billion ($129.2 billion) in today’s currency.

Rolls-Royce announced that Stephen Daintith has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and as an executive director of Rolls-Royce Holdings plc. Stephen will take up his new role in 2017, succeeding David Smith who will leave Rolls-Royce after three years to pursue other business interests. Keppel, BG Group JV to supply LNG Bunkers in Singapore

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through its wholly-owned subsidiary KS Investments Pte Ltd (KSI), and BG Group plc (BG Group) have been selected to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunker to vessels in the Port of Singapore. The joint bid submitted by Keppel O&M and BG Group for the LNG bunker supplier licence is one of the two top bids selected by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). The awarding of the licence is in line with the Port of Singapore's plans to launch the LNG Bunkering Pilot Programme in 2017. Keppel O&M and BG Group will work on forming a 50/50 joint venture to deliver an end-to-end bunkering solution using LNG sourced from BG Group's diversified LNG portfolio and leveraging Keppel O&M's expertise in LNG vessel servicing.
