IBIA Appoints Three Members To Its Board of Directors

THE International Bunker Industry Association announced at its Annual General Meeting on Monday 21 February, 2011, the three members who have been elected to its Board of Directors. Eugenia Benevides and Paul Dyke were elected - and John Stirling was re-elected - to the board with effect from 1 April, 2011. They will each serve for a period of three years. The retiring members of the board are Chris Fisher and Angus Ogilvie. Source: IBIA

Adams, Chief Executive of IBIA

Ian Adams has been appointed the first ever Chief Executive of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) following the decision to change from a 25-member Council of Management to an executive structure headed by a Board of Directors. Adams was formerly Secretary-General of IBIA which, since its formation in 1993, has been governed by a Council of Management. The decision to restructure was unanimously agreed by members at the IBIA convention in Cape Town in November last year.

IBIA Elects New Executive Members

At its recent general meeting in London, the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) elected new officers to its executive. Chris Leigh-Jones of Kittiwake Developments Ltd was elected the association's new chairman. He replaces Ivar Tonsen of Gearbulk and was previously IBIA's vice chairman.; the association's new vice chairman is Nicholas Ladis of NL Transol in Greece; David Peart of Tyne Tees Bunkering retired as honorary secretary. Paul Dyke of Tramp Oil takes over in this role; and Angus Ogilvie of Cockett Marine continues his term as honorary treasurer. "This is a strong management team and it will help guide and shape IBIA's efforts over the next two years.
