Bolloré Orders Additional Konecrane RTGs

In July 2013 Konecranes received an order for eight Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes from Bolloré Group. The cranes will be delivered to container terminals operated by Bolloré Africa Logistics in Pointe Noire, Congo, and in Douala, Cameroon in the second half of 2014. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order. “Our cooperation with Bolloré goes back to 2007, when Bolloré purchased its first RTG for Abidjan Terminal in Ivory Coast. We have delivered 35 RTGs to container terminals operated by Bolloré Group in West Africa, and we are very proud to get this new order which will bring the total to 43,” says Antoine Bosquet, Konecranes’ Sales Director, Port Cranes, region IMEA.

Konecranes Deliver 10 RTG's to West Africa

Ten Konecranes Rubber Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes delivered to Ports and Cargo Handling Services (PCHS) Ltd. PCHS, the port operations arm of the Nigerian Sifax Group, is a major player in port operations and related services in West Africa. The RTGs were ordered at the end of last year and delivered on time to the company’s terminal in Tin Can Island Port and are equipped with the new Konecranes cabin offering improved ergonomics and visibility. The RTGs are also equipped with the latest DGPS-assisted technology for container yards including Autosteering.

Konecranes Gets More W. African Orders

The manufacturer has received two orders for a total of nine gantry cranes from West Africa. The parties concerned have declined to reveal the value of the orders. The cranes will have some advanced technologies such as auto steering feature which keeps the crane on a pre-programmed, straight driving path as well as fuel saving technologies. According to Konecranes, the new technologies used help improving safety of operation and increase productivity. This contract is a result of a long term relationship.

Konecranes to Supply Nine RTG's to W. Africa Container Terminal

Konecranes to supply nine RTG's (Rubber Tired Gantry) to Bolloré Group in West Africa. The cranes will be delivered to MPS Container Terminal in Tema, Ghana and Benin Container Terminal in Cotonou, Benin. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the orders. The RTG cranes will be equipped with the new Konecranes award winning cabin offering improved ergonomics, visibility and safety. They will also contain various advanced Konecranes technologies like e.g. the Autosteering feature keeping the crane on a pre-programmed, straight driving path, and the Variable Speed Engine and Fuel Saver technology. All these features help improving safety of operation and increase productivity.

Konecranes Receives Container Handling Crane Order

In March 2011 Konecranes received its first container handling crane order from South Africa. Transnet Capital Projects, a specialist unit of South African rail, port and pipeline company Transnet Limited, ordered three RMG (rail mounted gantry) cranes to be used for intermodal operation in Johannesburg. The RMG cranes will be delivered to the City Deep Container Terminal in Johannesburg in 2012. “We are extremely proud of this first RMG order to South Africa and to Transnet,” says Antoine Bosquet, Sales Director, WEMEA, Port cranes at Konecranes.
