Inpex Submits Revised Indonesian LNG Plan
Japan's largest oil and gas exploration and production company Inpex Corporation has submitted a revised plan of development (POD) for the Abadi LNG Project, a gas field on the remote Masela Block in the Arafura Sea off Indonesia. The revised POD is based on an onshore LNG development scheme with an annual LNG production capacity of 9.5 million tons. India Deploys Eastern Fleet Ships Overseas
Indian Naval Ships Shivalik, Sahyadri, Jyoti and Kamorta of the Eastern Fleet manouvering in the Andaman Sea. The task force is on a routine deployment to Malacca Strait, the Java Sea, Flores Sea, the Arafura Sea and Southern Indian Ocean under the command of Rear Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, YSM, VSM, the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet. During the course of the deployment, as part of the ‘Act East Policy’, the ships would make port calls at Singapore, Kuantan (Malaysia), Jakarta and Surabaya (Indonesia), Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea) and Fremantle (Australia). Austal Delivers 7th Cape Class Patrol Boat
Shipbuilder Austal Limited announced it has delivered Cape Wessel, the seventh of eight Cape Class patrol boats being supplied to Australian Border Force under a $330 million design, build and in-service support contract. “The on-time delivery of Cape Wessel and continued efficiencies across the program reinforce Austal’s capability to reliably build and sustain naval and border protection vessels,” said Austal CEO Andrew Bellamy. “Our team at the Henderson shipyard have again demonstrated their ability to meet contracted timeframes.
HMAS Wollongong delivers injured mariners ashore
Royal Australian Navy patrol boat HMAS Wollongong has made a mercy dash to embark two injured Australians who were rescued by an Indonesian merchant vessel in the Arafura Sea. An Indonesian registered civilian offshore supply ship, MV POSH Shearwater, initially responded to a vessel in distress call and rescued the two men from their sinking craft on 14 May. The transfer from the POSH Shearwater was made using a winchable Paraguard Stretcher onto Wollongong’s sea boat, which then brought the injured sailors to the patrol boat. The task was made more difficult by the need to make the transfer at night in the open sea. Medics from Wollongong first boarded POSH Shearwater to check and prepare the two men for transfer to the patrol boat.
China's Pingtan Sells Subsidiary Companies to Chairman
Nasdaq-listed Pingtan Marine Enterprise Ltd. (PME) is to sell its 100% owned dredging subsidiary, China Dredging Group and its PRC operating subsidiaries, Fujian Xing Gang Port Service Co., Ltd. business and operating assets to an affiliate of the Company's Chairman, CEO and majority shareholder Mr. Xinrong Zhuo. In addition to the fairness opinion on the proposed transaction from Duff and Phelps, LLC, the Board received appraisal reports from BMI Appraisals Limited for the respective operating rights and licenses to conduct fishing services of 20 new vessels which are included as part of transaction consideration. The Board, excluding Chairman and CEO Mr. Xinrong Zhuo, and the Company's Senior Officer, Mr. Bin Lin, unanimously approved moving forward with the transaction.
China's Pingtan Receive 20 New Fishing Vessels
Pingtan Marine Enterprise Ltd. says that with the addition of these vessels and the recent acquisition of 46 vessels in June 2013, the Company's total current fleet has increased to 106. The vessels delivered were built in , and have an expected run-in period of 3 - 6 months, for sea trials and furthr testing. Pingtan say that each of the new vessels, built in Shandong Province is capable of harvesting 900 to 1000 tons of approximately 30 types of species of fish from the Indian Ocean. At current prices and operating at full capacity, each vessel can generate annual revenue of approximate $3 million USD with annual net income of approximate $800,000 to $1 million.
