Rigmarine Provides Custom Winch Package for Caspian Sea Topside

Lifting and marine product specialist Rigmarine said it has recently supplied a bespoke winch system for a multinational oil and gas company, a key customer in the Caspian Sea region. The riser pull-in system comprises 38t and 12t winches, in addition to key components such as hydraulic power units, tensiometers and multiple sheave assemblies. The winches will be used intermittently over a five-year period for riser and cable pull-in activities. They will be fixed onto an offshore platform upon delivery but can be relocated in line with the requirements of the project.

IHC Merwede Sells First IHC Beaver 65 DDSP

Following the launch of the IHC Beaver 65 DDSP in February, the first vessel has been sold to Advanced Construction Company, a member of the Al Geithy Group, based in Saudi Arabia. Testing was successful completed at IHC Merwede’s shipyard in Sliedrecht, The Netherlands, in early March and delivery to Jeddah will be organized in the second quarter of this year. After delivery the dredger will begin work in the Red Sea. The new vessel succeeds the highly successful IHC Beaver 6518 and belongs to the renowned IHC Beaver  series of standard cutter suction dredgers.

IHC Merwede unveils the IHC Beaver® 65 DDSP, a new IHC Beaver® series standard cutter suction dredger. The IHC Beaver® 65 DDSP, the successor to the highly successful IHC Beaver® 6518, is built for stock with short delivery times and designed and built under the BV Coastal Area classification. With a continuous focus on customer value, the concept of the dismountable standard cutter dredger has evolved. The design of the IHC Beaver® 65 DDSP is based on the experience of developing six previous generations and 50 years of building standard cutter dredgers in the 650mm class.

GPA Appoints Payne as Electrical Dept. Manager

Joseph E. Payne, P.E. has joined Seattle-based Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering firm Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA) as the Electrical Department Manager and Chief Electrical Engineer. At GPA, Mr. Payne is responsible for the complete design and systems integration of all main and emergency power, lighting, HVAC controls, hazardous area classification, interior communications & alarm systems. This includes engineering oversight, detailed design work, specification development and resolution of regulatory body issues.
