First Arkas Line Ship To Dock In Contship Ravenna

Natalia A container ship that belongs to Turkish ARKAS shipping line is docked in Contship Ravenna – the Contship Italia Group gateway on the Adriatic Sea. The Natalia A is deployed on the ADS service (Adriatic Service) that connects Ravenna with Istanbul, Gemlik, Piraeus, Izmir, Beirut, Mersin, Aleksandria and Lattakia, on a weekly basis. “We are delighted to see that a shipping line such as Arkas has chosen the Ravenna Terminal as a partner to expand container traffic, offering fundamental connections with Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, Greece and Syria” explain Giannantonio Mingozzi (President of the Terminal) and Riccardo Sabadini (President of Sapir).

Maritime Career Days Commence in Turkey

The annual Career Days at Istanbul Technical University each year is scheduled to continue with its 19th organization from November 4-21, 2014. The 19th Career Days will begin with V-Ships Ship Management on November 4 and conclude with Yasa Shipping on November 21, including several other shipping companies in between, as listed below. With this organization, the students who study in the maritime faculty will be able to ask the shipping companies questions and will be given opportunities to work as a cadet for their long-term sea training in these companies.

Carrier’s Refrigeration Unit for Ships Tops Records

Reflecting the shipping industry’s continued trend in the adoption of energy efficient equipment which reduces lifecycle costs, Carrier Transicold reported that its PrimeLINE® container refrigeration unit has surpassed previous records, selling nearly the same number of units in 2011 as in the prior three years combined. “For four successive years, the PrimeLINE unit has outsold all competitive models, and 2011 – a record year for the industry – accelerated this trend,” said David Appel, president, Carrier Transicold.
