Next Geosolutions Boosts Middle East Presence

Next Geosolutions is set to increase its international credentials in the Arabian Gulf, with a seven figure investment. The independent geoscience and engineering service provider has launched a new multi purpose-built operational facility in the Hamriyah Free Zone of Sharjah (UAE), and a supporting business development and marketing office in Dubai. The Switch Buys Wärtsilä Marine Drives Business

Finland based drive train technology specialist The Switch said it has closed a deal on October 31 to purchase Wärtsilä’s Norway-based marine power drives product range for megawatt-class applications. Virginia Port Deploys Hybrid Shuttle Carriers

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has delivered the three hybrid shuttle carriers ordered by The Port of Virginia in late 2014, to Virginia International Gateway terminal (VIG) in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA. Wartsila Wins LNG Systems Contracts for Four Ships

A series of four LNG carriers being built by the Hudong-Zhongua Shipbuilding yard in China will feature Wärtsilä LNG reliquefaction plants and gas handling systems. The ships are owned by Bermuda based Teekay Corporation, China LNG Shipping (CLNG), CNOOC Energy Technology Co of China, and BW Gas of Norway. The contracts with Wärtsilä were issued by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and were signed during the fourth quarter. The award of these contracts is a significant breakthrough into the Chinese market for Wärtsilä LNG reliquefaction plants and gas handling systems for LNG carriers…

Trelleborg Invests in High-Speed Fender Test Rig

Trelleborg’s marine operation is in the process of building and installing a custom-made high-speed test rig, capable of testing both rubber and foam fenders.
