Austal USA Hires New Chief Compliance Officer

Austal USA has hired Adam Overstreet as vice president of legal affairs and chief compliance officer.Overstreet will manage a broad spectrum of legal issues, including employment and labor law matters, commercial transactions, and litigation. As the company’s chief compliance officer, Overstreet will oversee and strengthen the execution of compliance activities throughout the organization.“Austal USA takes compliance with all laws and government regulations seriously,” Austal USA President Rusty Murdaugh stated.

Hunsucker Named President of Kohler Power Systems

Kohler announced the appointment of Charles Hunsucker to the role of President - Kohler Power Systems reporting to Brian Melka, Group President – Energy.Hunsucker joined Kohler Co. in 2000 and has held several leadership positions of increasing responsibility within the organization. Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) announced that William Ebbs has taken on the new role of vice president, federal policy, and Andrew Hicks has been promoted to vice president, legislative affairs. Both will report to Mitchell B. Waldman, corporate vice president, government and customer relations. "Will and Andrew have been important members of our legislative team and have tremendous experience working with Congress and the executive branch of the government," Waldman said.

Bryan Jones Joins HDR Ports & Maritime Team in Boston

Jones has joined HDR in Boston as a senior project manager for the Ports & Maritime group, a growing team of HDR marine specialists in the Northeast to support an increasing number of assignments following Super Storm Sandy. He will also focus on business development with key ports clients and marine terminals to continue expanding HDR’s presence in New England. Prior to joining HDR, Jones was chief project manager and regional director of the Massachusetts branch office of Ocean and Coastal Consultants.

NSWC Names New NAVSSES Executive Director

Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Commander Rear Adm. Mike Mathis and Technical Director Mary Lacey announced the selection and pending appointment to the senior executive service of Donald Collins as Executive Director of Naval Ship Systems Engineering Station (NAVSSES) in Philadelphia and Deputy Executive Director, NSWC Carderock, Md. The NAVSSES executive director develops overall policy and directs strategic and tactical planning. A native of Philadelphia, Collins earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University in 1967 and did graduate work at Drexel University, beginning his career in Philadelphia as an electronics engineer in the Measurement Technologies Department in 1974.

Boyd E. (Butch) King was appointed CEO of VT Halter Marine Inc. at the beginning of the month. King most recently served as a senior associate with Booz Allen and Hamilton, consulting on various logistical support projects. Among others, this included the study and recommendation to revamp the Balkan Military Support initiative for the United States Army Europe. King also played an instrumental role in developing the Capstone Training Course for the first Interim Brigade Combat Team command and staff for the Army's Training and Doctrine Command. King had a successful 35-year career in the U.S. Army, culminating in his appointment as Director of Transportation, Energy and Troop Support on the Army staff.
