MAN and Alfa Laval Collaborate on Four-Stroke Methanol Solution

Oxidation Catalyst Project Aims for 70% Methane Slip Reduction

MAN Developing Methanol Retrofit Solutions for Medium-speed Engines

MAN Energy Solutions announced it will begin developing retrofit solutions for medium-speed marine engines as part of a research association including WTZ Roßlau gGmbh and TU-Darmstadt. The three-year research project, ‘CliNeR-ECo’, is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) with initial work having already commenced at the beginning of 2023.CliNeR-ECo aims to develop concepts for diverse, medium-speed, marine engines that will enable the retrofitting of entire ship fleets at reasonable economic and technical costs.

First High-pressure SCR System Seals Class Approval

The first ever PBST-branded and -built cluster-3 SCR-HP system has passed its ClassNK approval test at the MAKITA works in Japan, MAKITA Corporation and MAN Energy Solutions announced.The compact SCR system is one of four – originally ordered in 2018 and 2019 – for vessels featuring MAN B&W two-stroke engines with two now delivered and the others currently en route to customers. MAN in Global Service Deal with Wallem

MAN Energy Solutions is acquiring 40 percent of the shares of the electrolysis technology company H-TEC SYSTEMS. A contract confirming the partial acquisition was signed in Augsburg by Dr. Uwe Lauber, CEO of MAN Energy Solutions, and Ove Petersen and Heinrich Gärtner, executive managers of the GP JOULE Group. The contract also makes provisions for a majority or complete takeover of H-TEC SYSTEMS at a later date. The company will continue to be independently represented on the market with no change in the level of commitment to its customers.

MAN Diesel & Turbo said its dual-fuel MAN L51/60DF engine has passed its Type Approval Test (TAT), which ran from October 17 to 20 at the company’s Augsburg works in Germany, in front of the industry’s main classification societies. The nine-cylinder test engine has an output of 1,150 kW/cylinder at a nominal speed of 500/514 rpm. The MAN L51/60DF engine can be employed both as marine main-engine and auxiliary engine. Augsburg’s testbed no. 20 hosted the test program of a nine-cylinder version of the engine that ran on fuel oil (DMA) and natural gas.
