Kalmar Hybrid RTGs for Argentina

Kalmar, the provider of cargo-handling solutions and services to ports and terminals,  is delivering two rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) with hybrid drivelines for Exolgan S.A. container terminal in Buenos Aires, Argentina.The order that follows the delivery of four hybrid RTGs to the terminal this December, was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q4 order intake with delivery scheduled to take place in late 2020, said a press release from the unit of Cargotec.The Exolgan terminal in Buenos Aires is a container-handling port terminal with strategic road, rail and river transport connections. Buenos Aires' Exolgan Orders Four Hybrid RTGs from Kalmar

Cargo handling solutions company Kalmar has signed an agreement with Exolgan S.A. to supply a total of four rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) with hybrid drivelines for its container terminal in Buenos Aires, Argentina."The order, which also includes the supply of a spare parts package for the machines, was booked in Cargotec's 2018 Q4 order intake with delivery scheduled to take place in late 2019," said a press release from Kalmar, part of Cargotec. Norfolk Southern Invests in Automation

American transportation company Norfolk Southern has signed a deal with Kalmar, part of Cargotec, for supply of four Kalmar SmartPower rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) equipped with a suite of process automation solutions.According to a press release, the order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 Q4 order intake with delivery scheduled to be completed by the end of Q4 2019. Norfolk Southern Railway subsidiary operates approximately 19,500 route miles in 23 states, serves every major container ports in the eastern United States and provides efficient connections to other rail carriers. In addition to containers, the company is also a major transporter of coal, automotive products and industrial goods.

Kalmar Bags Eurogate Order

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, is to deliver two rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to EUROGATE, Europe's leading shipping line-independent container terminal operator, for use in their Tanger S.A. terminal in Morocco.The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 Q3 order intake, with delivery scheduled to take place during Q3 of 2019. The EUROGATE Tanger container terminal is conveniently located on the Strait of Gibraltar in Morocco, making it the ideal transhipment hub for the western Mediterranean, Africa and South America.With a quay length of 812 m, a terminal area of 400,000 m² and a water depth of up to 18 m, the facility is well-equipped to handle the new generation of container ships. All RTGs currently operating at the terminal have been supplied by Kalmar.

Kalmar to Send Five RTG Cranes to DCT Gdansk Terminal

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a deal with Deepwater Container Terminal (DCT) Gdansk to supply a total of five electrically powered rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) with extensive customisation. The order, which also includes the supply of a spare parts package for the machines, was booked in Cargotec's 2018 first quarter order intake and delivery is scheduled to take place in early 2019. DCT Gdansk is Poland's largest and fastest growing container facility, and the only deep-water terminal in the Baltic Sea region with direct ocean vessel calls from the Far East. The terminal has an annual throughput capacity of 3 million TEUs and its operating area covers 74 hectares.

Kalmar Gets Order in Spain

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed an agreement with Noatum Container Terminal Bilbao for delivering two rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMGs) for intermodal operation. This is Kalmar's first RMG delivery since the new offering was launched in September 2017. The order was booked in Cargotec's fourth quarter 2017 intake and the delivery will take place during the first half of 2019. Noatum Container Terminal Bilbao is a large scale container terminal serving as a gateway for container transportation throughout the Iberian Peninsula and south-western France with strong intermodal services in Spain. The new Kalmar RMGs will be used for intermodal operations at the railyard which contains four train tracks, five container stacking rows and a service lane for road trucks.

Kalmar to Deliver 7 RTGs to Puerto Central, in Chile

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, will deliver seven E-One2 rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to Puerto Central S.A (PCE) in San Antonio, Chile. The RTG project has a total value of USD 14 million, including the cranes, spare parts, training for operators and technicians as wells as civil works and other auxiliary equipment required to automate certain RTG processes. The order was booked in June 2014 with a delivery and start-up date in July 2015. The Kalmar RTGs will enable Phase 1 of the terminal's capacity expansion of 450,000 TEUs as part of PCE's plan to become one of the largest container terminals in Chile. Besides a fast delivery time, it was vital for PCE to have the cranes delivered as fully erect.

Kalmar to Supply 4 RTGs to Super Terminais, Brazil

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, will deliver four E-One2 Zero Emission rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to Super Terminais in Manaus, Brazil. The 8 million USD order was signed in August 2014 with a delivery and start-up date in July 2015. Kalmar's E-One2 Zero Emission RTG is the market's technological frontrunner and includes an all-electric drive mechanism that produces no emissions or engine noise and completely replaces conventional hydraulic systems.
