DP World Antwerp Gateway has ordered a fleet of 34 Automated Stacking Cranes for its container terminal in Antwerp, Belgium. The Konecranes Gottwald ARMGs will be an expansion to the current fleet of 20 currently in operation. The first batch will be delivered in Q2 2022, the last batch by 2026. This order was booked in December 2020.DP World Antwerp Gateway was very motivated to continue their current operating concept, using their current ASC system delivered by Gottwald in 2006.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has announced that it will supply 25 Kalmar Hybrid Shuttle Carriers to the Port of Virginia, a growing, deep water port on the U.S. East Coast.The $23 million (USD) order was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q3 order intake, and represents the exercising of a contract option for further units that was agreed upon in 2017. Delivery of the new machines is scheduled to be completed by the end of July 2020.The new units will be delivered to Norfolk International Terminals (NIT), which is the port’s largest terminal and capable of handling the biggest vessels in the Atlantic trade. The provider of cargo handling solutions and services to ports, terminals, Kalmar has signed a maintenance and support agreement with International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI) covering the automated container handling solution operating at Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT).The order was booked in Cargotec's Q4 2018 order intake with the agreement coming into effect in November 2018, said a press release. Australia's first fully automated container terminal, VICT, welcomed its first vessel in March 2017. Located at Webb Dock East in the Port of Melbourne, the terminal's unique location on the bay side of the port means a faster turnaround time for imports and exports as well as easier berthing for ships.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and Navis, part of Kalmar Business Area within Cargotec, have been awarded the contract to supply a state-of-the-art, fully automated intermodal terminal solution for Qube's Moorebank Logistics Park (MLP) in south-western Sydney. The order, valued at approximately EUR 80 million, includes the supply of the OneTerminal solution comprising Kalmar's automated train handling, automated yard crane and automated horizontal transportation equipment and the Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS). It was booked into Cargotec's 2018 second quarter order intake. The manual operations at the Moorebank facility are due to commence in Q1 of 2019.

Konecranes signed a major service agreement in which its Antwerp-based service organization will perform all of the maintenance and repair work on more than 150 Konecranes Noell Straddle Carriers of different generations for MSC PSA European Terminal (MPET), the single largest container terminal in Europe. The purpose of this service agreement is to achieve consistently high availability of the entire machine fleet. MPET, which handles the majority of containers in the Port of Antwerp, saw steady growth in 2016. Governor Terry R. McAuliffe announced that The Port of Virginia will finalize the $217 million contract with Konecranes for that company to build and deliver 86 specialized cranes that will be at the center of the port’s expansion projects at Virginia International Gateway (VIG) and Norfolk International Terminals (NIT). The contract is the largest one-time order for automated stacking cranes (ASCs) in industry history. “The work on making The Port of Virginia the US East Coast’s leading gateway for world trade is truly underway,” McAuliffe said. At today’s regularly-scheduled meeting, the Virginia Port Authority Board of Commissioners ratified the deal with Konecranes.

Enormous quay cranes, which arrived at DP World London Gateway on Wednesday morning, will enhance U.K. Two more of the U.K.’s most technically advanced quay cranes were brought up the River Thames on Wednesday, completing the sea voyage from China on vessel Zhen Hua 10 via the Cape of Good Hope to arrive at DP World London Gateway Port, just 25 miles from Central London. The new cranes are for the third Berth at the DP World London Gateway container terminal, providing additional trade infrastructure for the U.K. when the berth opens later this year.

DP World Australia's new 30,000 sqm Melbourne terminal expansion, at the former Bentley Chemplax site, was commissioned on Tuesday (15 March 2016), signalling the start of a suite of capital investment projects in 2016-17. The completion of the Bentley Chemplax site delivers an additional 450 ground slots or 100,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) of container capacity per annum, increasing the capacity of the terminal to 1.4m TEU per annum. The development is the terminal’s largest expansion project since 2010, and represents the first in a series of new investments in DP World Australia’s hardstand infrastructure, yard equipment and wharf assets. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order from TraPac, Inc. to deliver two new 5th generation Kalmar automatic stacking cranes (ASCs) for the expansion of TraPac's automated terminal in Los Angeles. The cranes will join a fleet of 27 Kalmar ASCs and 28 Kalmar automated straddle carriers managed by the Kalmar TLS equipment control system. The new ASCs will be delivered in 2016 and they are expected to be commissioned by the end of 2016. It was an historic moment for Indonesia when President of Indonesia inaugurated the Lamong Bay Terminal in Surabaya, East Java, operated by state-owned PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Pelindo III). The Lamong Bay is the first green-concept container terminal in the country, and will increase the port’s annual capacity from 1.5 million to 3.5 million TEUs. Once fully operational, the total capacity of this bay terminal will be 5.5 million TEUs. "We have forgotten and I need to remind that two-third of Indonesian regions are water," President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo spoke before the audience, calling on regional heads and the people to pay attention on Indonesian maritime affairs. Jokowi hoped that the integration of Indonesian ports would reduce transportation and logistics cost.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order from DP World Australia to deliver two new Kalmar automatic stacking cranes (ASCs) for its semi-automated terminal in Brisbane. The cranes will join a fleet of 14 Kalmar ASCs at Fisherman Islands Terminal, bringing the number of modules servicing container trade to eight and increasing capacity by 14 percent to 720,000 TEU. The new ASCs will be delivered fully erected in 2016 and they are expected to be commissioned in January 2017. DP World Australia's Managing Director and CEO, Paul Scurrah, said the investment at the Port of Brisbane is a strong signal of the company's commitment to Queensland trade. "Productivity at our Fisherman Islands Terminal has grown from strength to strength," Mr Scurrah said.

Cavotec announced it has received orders for its port technologies in Australia, Indonesia, Oman, Portugal and Turkey, and for two major shipping lines, with a combined value of more than EUR 11.5 million. Cavotec will supply eight MoorMaster automated mooring units for installation at a container berth at the Port of Salalah in Oman, where a number of MoorMaster units have been in service for several years. MoorMaster is a vacuum-based automated mooring technology that eliminates the need for conventional mooring lines.

Terex Port Solutions (TPS) has strengthened its presence in the largest container terminal in Africa. Two Terex® rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMGs) are now in operation at Durban Container Terminal, run by Transnet Port Terminals (TPT), a subsidiary of state-owned Transnet SOC Limited. The new Terex RMGs are each equipped with a rotating trolley and have a span of 22.5 m, a lifting height of 11 m and a lifting capacity of 41 t under spreader. Powered by the terminal's electricity supply, they serve the rail terminal on pier 2 where they are replacing two 25-year-old cranes. By supplying these new cranes, TPS continues to expand its ongoing business relationship with TPT.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has won a significant contract to deliver container handling equipment and related automation technology worth of more than EUR 40 million to Port of Melbourne's new container terminal, operated by Victoria International Container Terminal Ltd (VICTL). Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, supported the grand opening of the DP World Brisbane container terminal as its Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS) went 'Live'. Implementation of N4 at DP World Brisbane, the fourth member of the DP World Australia family of terminals to go live on Navis N4 over the last three years, completes the standardization and optimization of the TOS software across all DP World Australia sites. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded a contract for the integration of the controls for the new rail mounted gantry (RMG) cranes at the intermodal yard of TraPac Inc's terminal at the Port of Los Angeles. Kalmar explain that the RMGs will be supplied to TraPac by PACECO with the Kalmar Terminal Logistic System (TLS) ensuring they are integrated in the automated operations. TLS is part of the Kalmar SmartPort equipment automation portfolio. The intermodal yard is a substantial part of the terminal, with 30 percent of the TEUs shipped inland by rail.

Cargotec's Kalmar has won a major order to supply 17 automated stacking cranes and 11 automated straddle carriers for leading terminal services provider TraPac Inc, a subsidiary of Mitsui OSK Lines, in Los Angeles, USA. The equipment is scheduled for delivery in 2015 and early 2016. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order. This contract follows an order for ten Kalmar automated stacking cranes and 17 automated straddle carriers received in October 2011. Konecranes to deliver container handling equipment to Indonesian state-owned terminal operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero). The order comprises 10 ship-to-shore cranes, 20 automated stacking cranes and five straddle carriers. Delivery is scheduled for 2014 and 2016. The value of the order is not disclosed, but is more than €100 million (nearly US$131-million). The Indonesian state-owned terminal operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero), is also known as Pelindo III.

UK Transport Minister, Stephen Hammond, goes to see London Gateway’s state-of-the-art port technology. Fully automated stacking cranes (ASCs) currently being installed at the UK’s new national hub port will increase reliability and ensure smoother, more efficient operations 24 hours a day, even in weather conditions that would force non-automated systems to close. One of the first to view the new equipment being erected was UK Transport Minister Stephen Hammond, who witnessed the first of 40 ASCs being constructed at London Gateway, which opens later this year.

Konecranes contracted to deliver 12 new cranes to the commercial Khalifa Port container terminal in Abu Dhabi. The company has received an order for twelve cranes for the new Khalifa Port where it has already delivered 30 automated stacking cranes. The port started its commercial operations in September this year. Khalifa Port is owned by the Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) and operated by Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT). Konecranes new order includes cranes with a lifting capacity of 40 tons, and they are equipped with automation controls.
