McLoughlin Launches New Harbor Tug

The latest general purpose harbour tug built by Macduff Shipyards has been launched, powered by WaterMota supplied engines. Eileen McLoughlin, owned and operated by John McLoughlin and Son (Shipping) Ltd. of Larne and Belfast, is the sister ship to Sally McLoughlin which was built in 2009. Both tugs are powered by twin Doosan 4V222TIH engines, each 588KW at 1,800RPM continuous output driving twin screws - four-blade 1,850mm diameter propellers in fixed nozzles. With a breadth of 6.2m and depth of 2.9m, Eileen McLoughlin has a transom stern and raked stem, with a centre skeg aft.

Damen Launches its Longest (120m) Pontoon Ever

Damen Shipyards announced that it launched the first of its newly designed Stan Pontoon (SPo) 12032. The SPo 12032 is the longest pontoon ever built by Damen (120m) and part of a series of 34 pontoons currently being built.

U.K.'s WaterMota Sold to Dutch Firm

Damen Receives Five Pontoon Orders

In December 2011, Damen Pontoons & Barges signed three contracts for a total of five purpose-built Damen Stan Pontoons (SPo): two Damen Stan Pontoons 6511 for Mammoet Maritime (The Netherlands), two Stan Pontoons 8916 ICE for Silverburn Shipping (I.O.M.) Ltd (UK) and one SPo 4113 for Rhumb Maritime (Australia). Delivery of the pontoons will take place between March and September 2012. Melbourne-based chartering company Rhumb Maritme ordered a Damen Stan Pontoon 4113 (41 x 13 m) with an outfitting best suited to the company’s current needs in the Asia-Pacific region.
