US Department of Defense informs BAE Systems Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii, is being awarded a not-to-exceed $22,905,907 undefinitized contract action to a previously awarded contract (N00024-14-C-4412) for repair and alteration of USS Hopper (DDG-90). DoD explains that USS Hopper will be undergoing a selected restricted availability which is the opportunity in the ship's life cycle to primarily conduct repair and alteration to systems and hull. Work will be performed in Honolulu, Hawaii, and will be completed by October 2014. Fiscal 2014 operations and maintenance (Navy) funds in the amount of $17,179,430 will be obligated at time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

BAE say that work is underway on the new £22m contract to support and provide maintenance to the Royal Navy’s River Class Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs). Following a successful track record of supporting these Portsmouth based ships for over a decade and after a competitive tender process, BAE Systems was awarded the contract in September, 2013 guaranteeing the work for the next five years. The maintenance contract will provide the Royal Navy with 320 operationally available days per ship per year.

This repair modification consists of 106 work items for the USS Chafee scheduled fiscal 2013 dry-docking availability. Work will be performed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and is expected to complete in February 2014. BAE Systems Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii, is being awarded a $7,842,302 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-06-C-4408) for the USS Paul Hamilton (DDG 60) repair availability.  This repair availability modification consists of 67 various work items for various ship repairs, modifications and alterations to be performed in a three-month repair availability.  Work will be performed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and is expected to completed in December 2011.  Contract funds of $9,641,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & IMF, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is the contracting activity.

One of the most illustrious warships in the history of United States Navy has been preserved for the future with a Cathelco hull corrosion protection system. The USS Missouri served in some of the most famous naval conflicts of the 20th century and is best known as the site of Japan’s surrender in 1945 which ended World War II. After war time service in the South Pacific, Korea and more recently providing fire support during Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf, the warship was decommissioned and donated to the USS Missouri Memorial Association in 1998.

YYK Enterprises, Inc., National City, Calif., is being awarded a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a maximum ceiling amount of $16,250,000, to provide interior and exterior preservation services onboard Navy ships and other government vessels within a 50-mile radius of San Diego. Work will be performed in San Diego, and is expected to be completed by December 2010. Contract funds in the amount of $3,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured and advertised via the Federal Business Opportunities web site with six proposals solicited and six offers received. Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding (NGSB), Inc., Pascagoula, Miss., is being awarded a $31,800,000 Basic Ordering Agreement for Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) for DDG 51 class destroyers. The orders to be issued arefor PSA planning and support services and will include advance planning, engineering support, on-site engineering liaison, craft assistance, the ordering and processing of required material in support of PSAs, and the accomplishment of emergent industrial availabilities. Emergent industrial availabilities include, but are not limited to, restricted availabilities, drydocking availabilities, and technical availabilities which may be required from time of ship's delivery through the SCN obligation work and limiting date.

Work will be performed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Contract funds in the amount of $11,140 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. BAE Systems has been awarded a second contract from Boeing for work on the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX-1), a floating, self-propelled, mobile missile warning radar station. The radar arrived at BAE Systems Hawaii Shipyards in Pearl Harbor from Alaska on June 26 and will remain there through February 2008. The company had previously performed maintenance work on the SBX-1 in 2006. BAE Systems will conduct maintenance and systems upgrades to include fuel oil tank cleaning; tow bridle repairs; a deadweight survey; antenna installation; catwalk and ladder repairs; crane upgrades and additions; galley and scullery upgrades; and will install a quick launch recovery boat. SBX-1 is part of the United States Missile Defense System, operated by the Missile Defense Agency.
