BAE Systems Awarded 'USS Benfold' Repair Contract
BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair Inc., San Diego, Calif., has been awarded a $38,601,943 modification to previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract for work on DDG 65. The contract is for the definitization of the USS Benfol (DDG 65) fiscal 2013 extended selected restricted availability Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif.,and is expected to be completed by August 2014. Fiscal 2013 Operation and Maintenance and Other Procurement, Navy funding in the amount of $38,601,943 will be obligated at time of award. Contract funds in the amount of $11,788,829 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.
BAE Get 'USS Gridley' Finance Top-up
US Department of Defense Navy contract awards BAE additional funding for the DDG-101 repair & maintenance docking. BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair, Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded an $8,970,338 modification to previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract (N00024-11-C-4408) to definitize the USS Gridley (DDG-101) fiscal 2013 selected restricted availability. DofD explain that a selected restricted availability includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship's military and technical capabilities. This modification includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $9,233,934. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Oct. 9, 2013.
Navy Awards BAE Funding for USS Russell Dry-Docking

BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair Inc., San Diego, Calif., was awarded May 24, 2013, a $49,796,139 modification to previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract (N00024-11-C-4408) to definitize the USS Russell (DDG 59) fiscal 2013 extended dry-docking selected restricted availability. In explanation DofD adds that an extended dry-docking selected restricted availability includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship's military and technical capabilities. This modification includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $50,258,933.

Systems, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va., (N65540-09-D-0029), are each being awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee multiple award contract for engineering and technical services on hull, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and equipment onboard U.S. Naval Vessels. The dollar value for all six contracts combined is $455,163,385.
New Navy Contract
BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair, Inc., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $9,064,075 modification to previously-awarded contract (N00024-08-C-2300) to exercise an option for the accomplishment of the Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) of the USS Stockdale (DDG 106). Specific efforts include: engineering and management in support of the PSA, labor and procurement of material to correct government responsible deficiencies and accomplis h system upgrades, performance of specified PSA work items inclusive of tests and post repair sea trials, additional manhours, and material in order to complete emergent repairs. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Jan. 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
