Baglietto Navy Partners with MST Group

Baglietto Navy, the military division of the historic shipyard based in La Spezia, announce it has formed a commercial partnership with MST Group, a company with headquarters in Bromborough (UK), specializing in the design and construction of military naval units up to 32m in length. Baglietto Hull Construction on Schedule

Italian custom superyacht builder Baglietto said that its construction of the hull no. 10225 is right on schedule, according to the program that will be launched next spring.The new 55-meter hull is part of Baglietto’s traditional platform (the T-Line) designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design, said a press release.The vessel’s soft and sleek lines reflect Baglietto’s traditional Italian style, and, together with the lowered gunwales and side air vents, will embody the Seagull brand’s unmistakable aesthetic features. Northrop Grumman Supplies the Ancora

The new megayacht Ancora, which recently made its debut from Italy’s Baglietto shipyard in La Spezia, has been fitted with a state-of-the-art integrated bridge system (IBS) supplied by Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit. The bridge electronics suite is based on Sperry Marine’s VisionMaster FT technology and features an array of TotalWatch multi-function workstations for controlling the ship’s radars, electronic chart system, closed-circuit TV, machinery monitoring and conning displays. Sperry Marine Systems for Megayacht

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit is supplying a complete suite of electronic navigation systems for a new megayacht being constructed in Italy. The 142-foot (43-meter) motoryacht, which is being built for a private owner at the Baglietto Shipyard in La Spezia, will be equipped with an integrated bridge system (IBS) based on Sperry Marine’s new-generation VisionMaster FT™ technology. The scope of supply will include X- and S-band radars, electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS), TotalWatch™ multi-function workstation, gyrocompass, autopilot, steering system and other navigation sensors.

Intermarine Launches Italian Fast Patrol Boat

On July 28, 2005, Rodriquez’s Intermarine shipyard in Sarzana launched the Bigliani Class VI Series Fast Patrol Boat G124 Cavatorto. The G124 Cavatorto will be formally delivered in approximately eight months and is an evolution of the Bigliani class training vessels, Marino e Pedretti developed for the Italian Navy in 1998. The 27m vessel is built 100% of composite, and is capable of speeds up to 40 knots. It will be used by the Guardia di Finanza as a coastal patrol vessel to fight against illicit smuggling and contraband activities. The launching cerimony was presided over by Gen. Walter Peruzzo, commander of the Guardia di Finanza Regione Liguria and by the Director of the Intermarine Yard, Mr. Edoardo Cossutta.
