Tower Resources Hires Vantage Drilling for Cameroon Well

UK-based Tower Resources has announced it has contracted US offshore driller Vantage Drilling International to provide drilling operations at the NJOM-3 well offshore Cameroon. The well is located in Tower’s 100%-owned Thali licence.The Topaz Driller is a Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 jack-up, which was recently mobilised to Cameroon by NewAge as operator for the Etinde license for two appraisal wells and is currently employed in Gabon, informed a press release from the upstream oil and gas company.As announced on 1 November 2018, the terms of the contract are confidential, however, the economics are consistent with Tower’s current drilling cost estimates…

Vantage Gets Contracts for 'Sapphire Driller'

The two contract awards for the Sapphire Driller involve adding an additional well to the Sapphire Driller's current drilling program and three wells from another customer in the Ivory Coast. The contracts will commence in continuity with the current drilling program and have an anticipated duration of approximately 215 days. The contract awards will generate an estimate $34.5 million of revenue, net of taxes. Additionally, the Emerald Driller's customer in Thailand has exercised their six month option, extending the current contract through the middle of 2013. PPL Wins $117 Million Rig Contract

PPL Shipyard, a subsidiary of SembCorp Marine has won a $117.6 million contract from Mosbarron Ltd, a subsidiary of Awilco AS of Norway for the construction of a Baker Pacific Class 375 Jack Up Rig. PPL Shipyard to Build Jackup for Offshore Group Corp.

PPL Shipyard, a subsidiary of SembCorp Marine, has secured a rig building contract worth $155m from Offshore Group Corp. for the construction of a Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 Deep Drilling Offshore Jackup Rig. Construction of the jackup rig is expected to commence in December 2006 with delivery scheduled in July 2009. The jackup rig will be built based on PPL's proprietary Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 Deep Drilling design. The rig will be equipped with a drilling package that will enable it to drill high pressure and high temperature wells at 30,000 feet while operating in 375 feet of water. It has accommodation for 120 men. PPL Shipyard is a rig-building yard with proven track record in the building and servicing of jackup and semisubmersible rigs.

Norwegians Buy Oil Rigs

Norway’s Petrojack ASA is selling three jackup oil rigs, being built in Singapore, for $600m. Awilco Offshore ASA and Sinvest ASA will share the cost of the three offshore oil and natural gas drilling platforms. The Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 deep drilling rigs had been slated for sale to Transocean Inc., but the Houston company decided not to purchase the units. (Source: Monsters and Critics.com)

Transocean Granted Purchase Option Rights for Jackup Rigs

Transocean Inc. has entered into agreements with PetroJack ASA of Norway (PetroJack) providing Transocean with the exclusive marketing rights in respect of three PetroJack jackup rigs under construction, PetroJack I, II and III, as well as options to purchase each unit. The three Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 deep drilling jackup rigs are currently under construction in Singapore with expected delivery dates in 2007 and 2008. The exclusive marketing rights and options granted to Transocean by PetroJack will terminate on March 15, 2006, but can be extended by 30 days. Transocean anticipates exercising its purchase right on each unit once it has secured a contract of sufficient duration and value, although Transocean is not obligated to purchase any of the jackup rigs.
