Scottish Ferries Contract for Parker Bestobell Marine

Parker Bestobell Marine, part of Parker Hannifin, has won a contract to supply cryogenic globe and check valves for two Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries (Calmac) being built at Ferguson Marine Engineering in Glasgow. The valves will be installed in the liquid natural gas (LNG) fuel gas systems of these vessels, which are the first U.K. built ships that will run on this environmentally friendly fuel. The new ferries will be ‘dual-fuel’ vessels so they can operate on both LNG and marine diesel.

Parker Bestobell Secures $5mln Contract

Parker Bestobell Marine, a  supplier of cryogenic valves and part of Parker, a global leader in motion and control technologies, has secured a nine vessel order,  worth $5m, making it the single biggest order that the company to date. The contract is with DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering) in South Korea to supply cryogenic globe and the vessels are part of a series of 15 liquid natural gas (LNG) carriers destined for the Yamal gas field in Russian Siberia. Parker Bestobell Marine has already secured orders for the other six vessels.

Parker Bestobell to Supply Valves for FSRU Newbuilds

Parker Bestobell Marine has recently completed a contract to supply cryogenic Globe and Check valves made in Sheffield, for Hoegh LNG’s series of five FSRUs (Floating Storage Regasification Units) that are being built at Hyundai shipyard (HHI) in South Korea. Parker Bestobell to Supply Valves for Canadian Tankers

Parker Bestobell Marine has received its first order to supply its cryogenic fuel gas valves for new build tankers. The two 15,000-dwt ice-class 1A asphalt and bitumen tankers have been ordered by Groupe Desgagnés of Canada and will be built at Besiktas shipyard in Turkey. The ships will be equipped with dual-fuel engines allowing them to operate on LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and fuel oil, via 600 cbm gas storage tanks on the decks. Once built, the vessels will serve the Great Lakes and Canada’s St. Lawrence River.

Parker Bestobell Marine Launches Compact Valve

Parker Bestobell Marine has launched a new compact version of its Float Isolation Valve (FLIV). The patented Parker Bestobell Marine FLIV is installed on top of the cargo tanks of LNG carriers and isolates the gauge and float from the cargo tank. These essential valves prevent boil-off gas from the cargo tanks, which could potentially be extremely dangerous. Parker Bestobell Marine’s original FLIV valve is available in 300mm and 200mm diameters. Bestobell Secures High Pressure Valve Orders

Bestobell Marine has secured two orders to supply its new range of high pressure globe and check valves to be used in high pressure fuel gas systems on board ships. The valves will be used within the pump and vapouriser skids for six LNG carriers that are being built at DSME shipyard and also for two LNG carriers being built at SHI (Samsung Heavy Industries), both in South Korea and due to be fitted with the MAN ME-GI engine. Bestobell Secures Another Marine Order

Bestobell Marine has secured an order for its cryogenic globe and check valves for the second LNG carrier in the Yamal series of vessels being built at DSME shipyard in South Korea. After winning the contract to supply cryogenic valves to the first vessel that will be owned and operated by Russian company Sovcomflot, the company proved it had the expertise and capabilities to supply the second Yamal vessel, which will be owned and operated by Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).

Demand Rising for Cyrogenic Valves in Marine Sector

UK-based manufacturer of cryogenic valves Bestobell Marine said it has seen a major increase in demand for its cryogenic valves from the marine sector in the U.S. This is largely due to the new Emissions Control Areas (ECA) which is increasing the number of dual-fuel vessels being commissioned which require cryogenic valves. One of the first major contracts that Bestobell secured in the marine sector in the U.S. was for the Harvey Gulf International Marine ‘Going Green’ project. Bestobell Bags HHI's Valve Order

Bestobell Marine, a world leading supplier of cryogenic valves for ships, has won a major new order from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in South Korea to supply valves for two new vessels. Bestobell’s Globe and Check valves will be used within vessels being manufactured for Greek shipowner, Gaslog. This latest order is the result of a number of years of product development by Bestobell Marine to provide flanged Globe and Check valves to meet HHI’s unique specification. This involved a great deal of innovation to create new patterns and tooling for casting and machining the valve bodies, working closely with HHI’s design department. The contract also involved the design and approval of a new smaller version of Bestobell Marine’s unique FLIV (float level isolation) valve.

Japan's First High Pressure Fuel Gas System Ordered

Bestobell Marine, part of the President Engineering Group (PEGL), has received an new order to supply its globe and check valves for Japan’s first high pressure fuel gas system that will be installed within a marine vessel. The order will see Bestobell Marine supply a number of its cryogenic globe and check valves to be installed in two sister ships being built by Imabari Shipbuilding Group in Japan for Elcano. Bestobell Marine’s valves are required for the carrier’s MAN ME-GI engines, where natural gas is injected into the engine at over 300bar pressure.

Bestobell Reports Headway in Chinese Market

Bestobell Marine has secured two new contracts with Chinese shipyards. The first contract will see the company supply cryogenic valves to the Guangzhou Shipyard International, China for use in a new ferry’s LNG fuel gas system. The second contract involves Bestobell Marine producing its small cryogenic miniature needle globe valves for the Hudong shipyard in Shanghai, where they will be installed on four 174K Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Carriers. Bestobell Bags Hat Trick Order in China

Bestobell Marine, part of the President Engineering Group, has received its third order in the past 12 months from Hudong Zhonghua shipyard in China. The deal involves the supply of 460 cryogenic miniature needle globe valves per ship for four Teekay/CNOOC/China Shipping Group LNG (liquefied natural gas) Carriers to be built at the shipyard, which will be chartered by BG Group. Bestobell Globe Valves Approved for LNG Carriers

Bestobell Marine is celebrating securing approval of its new DN350 and DN400 cryogenic globe valve designs that have been developed specifically for the marine sector. This means that the valves are now fully tested and certified for installation on LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Carriers. Bestobell Secures Valves Contract with DSME

Bestobell Marine has recently secured its first order to supply its brand new range of cryogenic high pressure Globe valves to DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co Ltd) in South Korea. The innovative new valves have been developed over the past two years, in conjunction with DSME, to meet the exacting standards required for the valves in the new fuel gas systems, which includes withstanding extremely high pressures. The valves are designed to stand a maximum pressure of 370 Bar and will be fitted in the gas phase piping of the fuel gas system.

Bestobell’s Scores Chinese Contract

Bestobell Valves, part of the President Engineering Group, said it has received a major boost to its marine division with the award of a new contract for cryogenic cargo globe valves from the Hudong Zhonghua shipyard in China. The multimillion dollar contract will see the U.K.-based company manufacturing valves for six 174K LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Carriers. The LNGC have been contracted by Sinopec, China Shipping Group and MOL of Japan to ship coal bed LNG from the Gladstone field in Australia back to China.
