Wagh Joins BSM India as Dy MD
Bibby Ship Management welcomed Sanjiv Wagh as Deputy Managing Director of its India offices. With over 30 year’s industry experience, Mr Wagh joins Bibby Ship Management from Kongsberg where he was General Sales Manager for Kongsberg Maritime India. During his time with Kongsberg, he occupied a number of roles covering research and development, ship simulation and analytics. Mr Wagh joins Bibby Ship Management India handling the support functions and other operational areas within each local business. Liam Means Business for Shipping Cluster
Enterprising student Liam Finch has been putting his summer days to good use by working on an important survey for the Isle of Man Shipping Association (IOMSA). Liam, 20, is involved in a project aiming to shed light on the value of the marine industry to the island. He has based himself at the premises of Bibby Ship Management Group Ltd on the Isle of Man Business Park. Bibby commercial director Mark Robertshaw is also vice chairman of the IOMSA and welcomed Liam onboard to undertake the work. Liam, from Derbyhaven, is studying Viking Studies at the University of Nottingham. The scheme itself takes place during the summer over a period of six to 12 weeks depending on the size of the project and needs of the business / organisation.
Bibby Ship Management Boosts IOM Business
Bibby Ship Management has more than doubled the number of vessels under its Isle of Man statutory management service since last year, according to figures just released. Latest figures issued by the Isle of Man Ship Registry reveal a flagged merchant fleet of 442 vessels, amounting to 16,235,059 total gross metric tons. Bibby Ship Management provides statutory management services to 71 of these vessels, amounting to more than 4 million gross metric tons - a quarter (25%) of the total registry.
Acquisition Brings Bibby into Marine Surveying
Bibby Ship Management Group Ltd. announced the acquisition of Murray Fenton (India) Surveyors Limited. The acquisition was made via Bibby Ship Management India Pvt. Ltd., and will see India’s service offering expand into marine, cargo and offshore surveying including marine audit services. Operations will be based in Mumbai and Gujarat, with geographic expansion into other areas of India planned for the future. Bibby Ship Management welcomed Capt. Kapil Dev Bahl. New Commercial Director for Bibby Ship Management
Bibby Ship Management Group Ltd announced the appointment of Mark Robertshaw as its new Commercial Director, joining the business on September 23, 2013. His responsibilities will also include the role of new Managing Director for Bibby Ship Management’s Western Europe office, based in the Isle of Man. Mr. Robertshaw, a shipping and marine professional, is joining the business from Faststream Recruitment, where he set up its new Asian operation and took responsibility for sales performance for the region.
Bibby Appoints New Chief Operating Officer
Bibby Ship Management Group Ltd. appointed Chris Stone as its new Chief Operating Officer. He joined the business on July 1, 2013. Chris will replace Simon Barham who was scheduled to move on from Bibby Ship Management at the end of June. However, Simon has kindly agreed to work a further month to have a managed handover with Chris and will therefore leave at the end of July 2013. Chris has over 30 years’ world-wide experience in the maritime and logistics sector having worked in in Africa, the Middle East, India and most recently in Asia Pacific and Australasia.
ETC Will Partner With Bibby Maritime in Mumbai
Hamburg - ETC, the MSG MarineServe GmbH operated ‘ECDIS Training Consortium,’ announced that it has reached agreement with the Sir Derek Bibby Maritime Training Center in Mumbai to act as its local partner. MSG will provide its well established ECDIS training course ware, ECDIS training systems and approved Train-the-Trainer courses. In addition, MSG will provide 24/7 certificate authentication and trainee database services for reference by its Partners, Customers, Port State Control and other concerned authorities. The Sir Derek Bibby Maritime Training Center will deliver the training, which is configured on a single training structure and methodology in order to guarantee the quality and consistency of the training.
